While Pierre Henderson-Niles is losing weight , it's a (likely) future Memphis Tiger who is dominating the discussion among fans and creating quite a stir in the world of recruiting.

His name is Joe Jackson.

He'll be a McDonald's All-American.

And though he's always been guarded with his verbal comments about his college situation, he's been using Facebook for the past week to drop hints about his upcoming decision. The whole thing reached new heights late Monday, when Jackson posted a photoshopped picture of himself in a Memphis jersey, then started trading posts with Will Barton, a fellow consensus Top 20 national recruit who is already committed to Memphis.

The bottom line is this: Jackson is technically still considering Memphis, Kansas and Tennessee, but there isn't a person at Kansas or Tennessee who believes Kansas and Tennessee are in the mix. In other words -- like I've written many times -- Joe Jackson will be a Memphis Tiger. Anything that happens between now and the time he makes that is official is just him messing with fanbases and having a good time with the process, which is kind of hilarious.

Imagine what it must be like for a 17-year-old to excite or enrage thousands of adults with a single status update.

Sounds fun, doesn't it?

But everybody has always known how this movie would end.

Joe Jackson will play for Josh Pastner.

And for what it's worth, I'm hearing a traditional commitment will come soon.

My source said it'll be Friday ... unless Jackson decides he wants to keep having this fun a little while longer.

He led an AAU team!!!   I coached my sons 3rd grade team to a league championship.  Sounds like I am qualified for the Memphis job.

Again that was with Cal who cheated to get those wins.  Pastner has done nothing to earn any type of credibility. you obviously don't know anything about Pastner- He led the AAU team Houston Hoops, a select all-star team from that area, to the 1999 Nike National Summer Championship in San Diego. Pastner also led the Houston Hoops to the Global World Championship in the summer of 200o all when was was around 20 yrs old..

Which only means Memphis will once again get a #1 or #2 seed in the NCAA tournament.
