A Binghamton adjunct lecturer who accused the athletic department of pressuring her to change her grading policy for basketball players was dismissed Tuesday, according to the New York Times .

The adjunct lecturer's name is Sally Dear.

Her criticism appeared in a New York Times article in February . She was dismissed less than a week after six basketball players were released -- including Emmanuel "Tiki" Mayben, who was arraigned last Thursday on crack-cocaine charges.

“I’m being fired for being ethical,” Dear told the New York Times . “I have no doubt about that whatsoever. ... It’s unfortunate that people who are honest and trying to do their job are punished for that."
