Report: Wall's eligibility in question
Kentucky freshman John Wall is facing eligibility issues because of his relationship with Brian Clifton, ESPN.com's Dana O'Neil and Pat Forde reported Thursday. According to the story, UK officials are "working feverishly" to clarify the situation, which stems from the fact that Clifton was a certified agent while also coaching Wall's summer league team.
CBSSports.com reported Clifton's background as an agent in August 2008.
He was the point man in Wall's recruitment.
CBSSports.com could not immediately reach UK coach John Calipari for comment. But a source familiar with the situation told CBSSports.com that Kentucky officials are confident the most likely scenario has Wall repaying an undetermined amount of money (for expenses Clifton incurred while accompanying Wall on unofficial visits) and possibly missing "a few games, maybe three or four." Kentucky's first four games are against Morehead State, Miami-Ohio, Sam Houston State and Rider. The Wildcats won't play a team ranked in the preseason Top 25 (and one) until they face No. 5 North Carolina on Dec. 5.
CBSSports.com tabbed Wall as its "Preseason National Player of the Year" earlier this month.
He is expected to be the No. 1 pick in next June's NBA Draft.

Report: Wall's eligibilty in questionI seem to recall a certain double national columnist/ radio host/ trivia master (Let's call him Gary P... no, no, no, that's too obvious, we'll call him G Parrish) saying something about Wall and Clifton just yesterday on his radio show. Something about how Clifton pushed Wall to KY for a year while he gets his agent status cleared up so he can represent him when he goes pro. Now he's temporarily inelligible. Looks like someone at the NCAA listens to the Geoff and Gary Show. Probably for the Harvard Horn Lake Trivia. |

Report: Wall's eligibilty in questionThe fact that Cal is UK's coach doesn't mean he is directly responsible for Wall's AAU coach being an agent! Where people get this logic is beyond me but UK can't be faulted for going after the best. If everyone does their job properly, what should happen will even if that means we don't get Wall. Too many people just like to spew the same nonsense and make connections that are presume guilt by association and it's laughable! |

Report: Wall's eligibilty in questionThis is not a surprise. Kentucky is a cheating king pin in basketball. Everyone knows Calipari cheats. That is no surprise. He has been doing that since he was at UMASS. If you think otherwise, the intricacies of sports just must not be your cup of tea. I am not saying he is the only one, because trust me he isn't, but he is right up there with the best of them and it is no surprise. How many times does the AAU issue keep coming up. NCAA can do something about this and yes it would be a battle, but they could fix it. But that would take a lot of time and most importantly money and of course, the NCAA is comfortable making it. |

Report: Wall's eligibilty in questionThe big thing in this is UK has been "Working" on this for Months and its still unresolved. They are saying 3500+ in costs so far being speculated and there is issues because his AAU coach had talks with NBA and Overseas franchises. Kentucky needs to sit this kid untill the NCAA give them in writing hes cleared to play. |

Report: Wall's eligibilty in questionThis will be cleared up and Big Blue will start winning games. The bottom line on Coach Cal + Kentucky = Winning games and getting to the final 4 in the Big Dance.. I can tell by the tone of your comment that you do not have any love for UK. However, that is okay and we will win regardless of what you think about Big Blue>>>>>> |
