Surely, UCF administrators knew what would happen if Marcus Jordan wore Air Jordans Wednesday night.

They can't be that stupid.

Which is why I'd bet my best pair of Sambas that before long we'll learn UCF is on the verge of becoming a "Nike" school, because I can't imagine MJ letting his son's athletic department scramble after his son's allegiance to Nike cost UCF a sponsorship with adidas . I mean, do you really think MJ will let adidas get over on his son?

Absolutely not.

So yeah, UCF has lost its adidas contract.

That's too bad.

But the Knights will have Swooshes on their jerseys in no time, guaranteed.

Nike to the rescue in 3 ... 2 ... 1

I don't know who you are, but this is one of the least intelligent posts i have seen in a long time.  Even ignoring the numerous grammatical and spelling errors, it makes no sense.

The most recent stat I can find show that there were 15,555 high schools in the US in 2005.  Assuming that at least 15,000 of these have basketball teams and every team has a starting point guard, that places 100th ranked Marcus in the top 2/3 of 1% of all starting high school point guards.  How can anyone say that sucks?  When have you been in the top 1% of anything??

Also, there are 347 D1 basketball schools.  I would agree that no other school would want him if there were only 99 D1 schools, but with 347, I'm sure that he had a pretty good selection of schools of which to choose.

Like most NCAA athletes, he probably lacks the skills to become a professional.  Most of the all-conference selections from across the country won't play professional ball.  However, to say that someone sucks because they do not have that level of ability is illogical and just plain silly.

So then shoe czar Adidas would take a photo of MJ son and then use it in a commerical say that MJs boy wears Adidas. So it is a sticky wicket. Adidas is the bad guy here, hurting all of the other students because they want the PHOTO. Thats all they care about. So what if one kid wears Nikes, its not like CF is on national tv every week.

Can You Teach Doyle How To Be Objective- Smarter?

Great column and you really made Doyle look like an idiot with his personal biased, way off base column.  Of course they knew, I am sure Marcus didn't just come out of know where and say I am not wearing those shoes.  Capitolistic Monopoly now of days in turning into communism.  A kid should be able to wear whatever kind of shoes they want.

Nike to the rescue in 3 ... 2 ... 1

Here is a good article about the situation:

By the way unlikeagnew1, he was a 3 star recruit offered scholarships by larger name programs (Iowa is the one one I can remember off the top of my head).  He also had a grade of 87.  One of his best friends from high school is our start point guard.  That and along with the fact that adidas rep said he could wear them.

Has anyone actually seen what he wore.  All white shoes with no visable logos unless you are holding them and big, thick black and white adidas ankle wraps.  The only logo you see on him at all is adidas.

I still think either adidas comes back or UCF gets a better deal.  Hard to walk away from a student body that, as of a few weeks ago, is tghe 3rd largest in the nation at over 50,000 plus.

Jordan

Marcus Jordan Sucks.. REally he sucks UCK was the best offer he got and he is micheals son.  No other D1 school would take him for tickets sales alone in this economy.  He was the # 100 rated Shootin Guard as a senior. Not 100 over all 100th at the posision.  He sucks and shame on UCF for ketting this happen.
