Jelan Kendrick committed to Memphis on Saturday, giving first-year coach Josh Pastner his third top 20 national recruit and by extension a class that is arguably the country's best.

Kendrick is a 6-foot-6 wing from just outside of Atlanta. He had previously stated he would wait until May to sign, but those plans changed during a weekend visit to Memphis. Kendrick is the third prospect ranked in MaxPreps.com's top 20 to commit to the Tigers. The others are Will Barton (No. 3 at MaxPreps.com) and Joe Jackson (No. 11 at MaxPreps.com). Memphis also has commitments from Chris Crawford, Antonio Barton and Hippolyte Tsafack.

North Carolina is the only other school with three top 20 recruits. The trio of elite prospects committed to the Tar Heels are Harrison Barnes (No. 4 at MaxPreps.com), Reggie Bullock (No. 5 at MaxPreps.com) and Kendall Marshall (No. 13 at MaxPreps.com).

bro i commebd you for bein straight forward but sorry to say your a lil off, yes 30+ wins does look good to recruits, but with out the sweet 16's, elite 8's, the final 4, and the national title game they meant nothin, the exposure memphis got for the 4 straight elite 8 runs is what attracts recruits.

and if were stating facts there is only 2 differences between memphis and uk.

1. memphis just vacated a final 4 and uk will soon

2. you have the problem there, we are rid of him

as long as world wide wes is involved in cals recruiting there will always be the worry of ncaa violatins but i understand how yaw feel everybody in memphis was the same way we knew what he could cause but we didnt take the time to worry cause we were on top when a recruit www sent yaws way ends up costin yaw youll understand were we are, youll love the sucess then youll say ok they cant take are memories away as call is walk away towards his next vacated final 4

That is because you are blinded by your desire to win at any cost.  Don't forget he recruited that class  on Memphis time and with Memphis dollars.

Tarik would go to better conference like the Big East in Marquette which he visited during Midnight Madness and Florida is in a better conference also.
