Who's the best at picking Big Ten/ACC games? Me

To those who asked, yes, I correctly predicted the first six games of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

I appreciate you noticing.

But the truth is that I always felt good about my predictions in those six games; it was the Wednesday night games that concerned me. I've got Duke over Wisconsin, Clemson over Illinois, Ohio State over Florida State, Michigan over Boston College and Minnesota over Miami. But a couple of those games could easily go the other way, in which case my promise that the Big Ten would win this event for the first time might not come true, at which point I'd be humiliated and depressed.

So does that mean I'm rooting for the Big Ten?

No.

It means I'm rooting for the same thing I always root for, i.e., me being right.

So go Big Ten!

Don't let me down.

Seriously, it should be a fun night of hoops.

And if you're wondering, the game that concerns me the most is Minnesota-Miami. I've got the Gophers, but Miami is clearly better than I anticipated coming into this season. The Hurricanes are 7-0 with a win over South Carolina. Meantime, the Gophers have lost two straight and traveled from Minnesota to Los Angeles, back to Minnesota and to Miami in the past week, and this will be their fourth game in seven days. So fatigue could play a role.

Also worth nothing: Miami is a 2.5-point favorite.

That's not good for my prediction.

But we'll see how it goes.

I'm a Duke fan, but boy, did Bo Ryan's squad play a great game. Such good fundamental basketball. That was a loss you could walk away from feeling not too terribly bad.

Garry, gotta give to you for the predictions, wrong on a few, but it was sure nice to have my Badger give Duke their first loss in this challenge and give the BigTen its first win.
Garry, next week you can revise your Big Ten, predictions, still think the Badgers will finish 7th?

Michigan is getting killed.

I'm so screwed.

Bo Ryan is my only hope.

It's looking like the Boston College Eagles might actually be the ACC's ace in the hole. They win this one, I might finally accept them as a true ACC member.
