Louisville-Kentucky is going to be huge

Posted on: December 29, 2009 2:09 pm

Louisville-Kentucky is always a big deal. But when you throw in that it's now Rick Pitino vs. John Calipari, and that the Wildcats are among the best teams in the nation, and that Pitino was part of a pretty wild extortion case this offseason, and that nobody probably enjoyed that more than Calipari, and that college basketball's best player (John Wall) will be involved, well, what you get is a blockbuster event.

As proof, check the list of credentialed media that'll be at Saturday's game.

And remember, this is just a list of the credentials granted .

Many, many more were requested.

But Rupp Arena only holds so many people, you know.

Louisville-Kentucky is going to be huge

Why are the Nets not on the list of NBA teams coming to see John Wall in person? I know the worst team never gets the first pick but are they so committed to failure that they feel no need to do their draft homework? Plus they would get the added benefit of seeing Calipari win a basketball game, surely they must be interested to see what that looks like.

On a different point, what are the Pacers doing at that game?  There aren't any big white stiffs that play for those teams...

Louisville-Kentucky is going to be huge

Does Louisville have Peyton Siva, Preston Knowles and Jerry Smith back from injuries yet?  Having 3 guards injured could mean for a very long game.
