Dear Gary (on Kansas being 'overrated')

Here's Wednesday's Dear Gary ...
Dear Gary: I know you see and know more about teams than I do. That being said, I think Kansas is way overrated. The Jayhawks have played two top 25 teams this year. They lost to Tennessee, and Cornell almost beat them at home. They have a couple of great players that are NBA guys, but they won't get to the Elite Eight.
First, Kansas has more than a "couple" of NBA guys.
Xavier Henry will play in the NBA.
Cole Aldrich will play in the NBA.
So will Sherron Collins.
And a few other guys have chances, too.
That -- combined with what they did last season -- is why I'm not bothered that the Jayhawks are 1-1 against schools ranked in the AP Top 25. There are certain teams that enter a season needing to prove they're worthy of a high ranking, but this version of Kansas isn't one of them. The Jayhawks only needed to avoid proving that they didn't deserve the high ranking to keep the high ranking, and they've done that. Remember, Kansas is 16-1, and the only loss came in the final minute (and on the road) to a Tennessee team ranked eighth. Plus, the Jayhawks have a dominating win at No. 16 Temple. I still believe they'll be there in the end.
Won't get to the Elite Eight?
I'll take that bet.
