Robbie Hummel suffered a knee injury.

Jarvis Varnado set a NCAA record.

Here's Thursday's What You Need To Know:

Notable game from Wednesday: Keaton Grant sank a jumper with 7.7 seconds remaining to lift Purdue to a 59-58 victory at Minnesota, but that's all secondary to Robbie Hummel's knee injury. The junior forward crumbled to the court in the first half after his right knee buckled. The extent of the injury should be known later Thursday after an expected MRI.

Notable performance from Wednesday: Jarvis Varnado blocked eight shots in Mississippi State's 74-66 win over Alabama and became the NCAA's all-time blocks leader. The senior now has 536 career blocks, one more than former Louisiana-Monroe standout Wojciech Mydra.

Notable game scheduled for Thursday: Kentucky has a chance to avenge its lone loss of the season when South Carolina visits Rupp Arena for an SEC East showdown. Kentucky is 26-1 overall, 11-1 in the SEC. South Carolina is 14-12 overall, 5-7 in the SEC. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. ET.

Congrats to Jarvis Varnado

Anytime an all-time record is broken, it's a huge deal. And he still has a few more games to go.
