Michigan State is now a win away from a share of the Big Ten title.

Ashton Gibbs' buzzer-beater gave Pittsburgh a double bye in the Big East tournament.

Notable game from Thursday: Michigan State didn't look like Big Ten champions, but the Spartans still have a shot to become Big Ten champions thanks to their 67-65 win over Penn State. The victory pushed Tom Izzo's team to 23-7 overall, 13-4 in the Big Ten. Michigan State will earn a share of the league title with a win Sunday against Michigan.

Notable performance from Thursday: Ashton Gibbs hit a transition 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Pittsburgh to a 73-71 win over Providence. The sophomore guard made nine of 13 field goal attempts and finished with 25 points. His effort moved Pitt to 23-7 overall and 12-5 in the Big East, and it secured a double bye in next week's Big East tournament.
 
Notable game scheduled for Friday: Northern Iowa will open its Missouri Valley Conference tournament with a quarterfinal game against Drake, which advanced to the quarters by beating Southern Illinois. UNI is 25-4 overall, 15-3 in the MVC. Drake is 14-18 overall, 7-11 in the MVC. Tip-off is set for 1:05 p.m. ET.
