West Virginia point guard Darryl 'Truck' Bryant broke his foot during Tuesday's practice and will not play for the Mountaineers the rest of the season, WVU sports information director Bryan Messerly told CBSSports.com on Tuesday night.

West Virginia plays Washington Thursday in the Sweet 16.

Bryant was averaging 9.3 points and 3.1 assists for the Mountaineers. He's likely to be replaced in the starting lineup by Joe Mazzulla, a junior point guard who is averaging 23 minutes per game in the NCAA tournament. WVU is the second school to lose its point guard in the past three days. Michigan State star Kalin Lucas tore his Achilles tendon Sunday and is also out for the season. Michigan State plays Northern Iowa Friday in the Sweet 16.

Anything that makes Kentucky's path to the title easier, makes me sick to my stomach
