Marshall's Jones headed to UCF

Marshall's Donnie Jones has agreed in principle to be Central Florida's next coach, has confirmed.

An official announcement is expected Monday.

Jones is leaving one C-USA program for another, but there's a chance UCF could turn into a Big East job with conference realignment almost certainly on the way. That combined with incredible facilities by C-USA standards, a new deal with Nike and the possibility to get back to the state of Florida -- where Jones was an assistant for both of Billy Donovan's national title teams -- makes the move sensible for Jones, who spent three seasons at Marshall.

UCF fired Kirk Speraw earlier this month.

The Knights finished 15-17 overall this season.

Marshall's Jones headed to UCF

First, I have to say that I don't know the first thing about Donnie Jones.  But I do know that if he can recruit more players like Hassan Whiteside, we'll be happy to have him at UCF.
