INDIANAPOLIS -- Da'Sean Butler's knee injury is worse than West Virginia initially believed.

A source close to the program confirmed to CBSSports.com that an MRI performed Sunday showed Butler has a torn ACL, sprained MCL and two bone bruises in his left knee. This means he'll require surgery and be unable to workout for franchises before June's NBA Draft. The CBSSports.com First Team All-American is projected by most as a second round pick, but this development could leave Butler undrafted.

Butler collapsed in the second half of Saturday night's loss to Duke. He yelled in pain while lying on the court, which led to Bob Huggins holding him and caressing his face in one of the more moving moments of this NCAA tournament. WVU officials said they believed it was only a sprained MCL after the game. But they learned it is much worse Sunday.

Butler averaged 17.2 points and 6.2 rebounds this season. He was the MVP of the Big East tournament.

You are a pervert. Were you molested as a child or did you just a lack a trustworthy male rolemodel?

Truly one of the most touching moments of this year's March Madness was coach Bob Huggins, out on the court, consoling his wounded warrior during such a difficult moment. I had tears in my eyes watching him trying to calm Da'Sean Butler while he was in pain. Say what you will about coach Huggins, but I was very proud of him at that moment! Get well soon, Da'Sean. See you in the NBA!!!

I also thought it was strange that when Huggins stood up he had an erection.

A damn shame and one of the saddest moments I've seen in sports...I wish Da'Sean Butler the best.

Come on, everyone knows that was one of the strangest things ever seen on a basketball court.  I thought the same thing at first, that is was a nice gesture.  But I too felt that the whole thing just got a little weird after it didn't immediately stop.  Huggins rubbing his face all over Butler was just plain odd.  That didn't have to happen to show compassion.  And as for you all calling Duke fans classless, do you have any idea how you at WVU are viewed by ANY visiting team?  Just ask a few.  No one wants to play in Morgantown because your fans are probably the worst in the country.  And to think you believe you represent WV -- I hope people who attend those games realize that there is more to the state than WVU.  Yeah, you all are one to talk about classless fans.
