Charlotte hires OSU assistant

Believe me I would have loved a big name but I think with all of the costs associated with starting up the football program they may have taken a less expensive route....or maybe they truly liked the guy but I am more inclined to think it was money.
that being said I like him because of his contacts; he is familiar with  the A 10 and Big 10 recruiting areas, although at Ohio state he could recruit nationally, Charlotte will obivously be more limited in that role, but I think he can close the deal. I dont think recruiting will be an issue, my main concern is will he be like Ron Zook is in football, a great recruiter but lousy coach, here's hoping for good things Charlotte!

Charlotte hires OSU assistant

I was really hoping Charlotte would make a big name hire (Skinner, Kent, Gillespie, etc.)  but if you think this guy has the goods CubsFan, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.  With the right coach, Charlotte could be a sleeping giant.  Remember this is the team that Michael Beasley almost played for and has had some great players like Rodney White and Curtis Withers among others.  This is also the team that gave Cincinnati, Louisville, Marquette, DePaul, UAB, and Memphis a run for their money every year in CUSA.  When Charlotte plays good ball, it is good for all of Carolina no matter what color blue you prefer.

Charlotte hires OSU assistant

I think this a good hire, he has learned the craft under some good coaches and brings a new perspective to the team. Of course you never know until you see how well he recruits and how well the team performs, but I really think this is good for Charlotte.
