Colorado's Jeff Bzdelik, as expected, will be named the next head coach at Wake Forest, a source confirmed to CBSSports.com on Sunday.

CBSSports.com reported Friday that a deal between Bzdelik and Wake Forest was "all but done."

A formal press conference could come as early as Monday.

Bzdelik won 24 and 26 games in two years at Air Force before taking the Colorado in 2007. He's had three consecutive losing seasons in the Big 12. But that's something Wake Forest athletics director Ron Wellman was willing to overlook in hiring the former NBA coach to replace Dino Gaudio, Skip Prosser's former assistant who was fired last week after consecutive NCAA tournament appearances.

Colorado assistant Steve McClain is an obvious candidate to replace Bzdelik.

McClain is a former head coach at Wyoming.

Hey Mr. imaconman: Spoken like a true mental midget flat lander where they send the Nebraska inmates to go site seeing. CU is high level academic institution where a degree means something. People go to KU to learn how to sqeal a pig, suck an utter, or use corn cobs in various ways.

put that in your jock talk corn stock

Why shouldn't he leave?

He'll never get anywhere with Colorado. The CU athletic department is a joke, the pot-smoking hippies in Boulder don't give a damn about the basketball program, and Wake has a richer basketball history than Colorado could ever hope to have.

And it's not like Colorado saw any significant improvement during the Bzdelik regime either. Let's face it: Colorado sucks at basketball. The only time the arena sells out is when KU plays there Jayhawk fans pack the Coors Events Center and turn it into Allen Fieldhouse West. Maybe CU should just give up basketball. Maybe CU should join the Mountain West conference where they could actually compete in intercollegiate athletics! But wait, KU wouldn't be guaranteed two wins in Big 12 play anymore!

ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!

What does your apparant CU hatred have to do with this article. It's about Wake Forest and them hiring of Jeff Bzdelik. Sounds like you have some issues with CU or something. Nice choke job in the tourney by the way. Hacks.

WF fans, I think this guy can be good, but you have to know you are nothing but another stepping stone much higher than you.

As a Kansas fan, I can tell you that his teams played hard. He also un-Earthed an amazing recruit in Alec Burks. That being said, I would think Wake carries more clout than hiring away CU's basketball coach. I almost expected them to go after Jeff Capel or Scott Drew since they are higher profile and Capel is from North Carolina and obvioulsy knows the ACC.

Agree with you 100%. Give him some material to work with and he will make Wake Forest fans very happy. Besides its nice to have someone other than that person at D___ whose name can't be spelled correctly.

You guys should be happy to land Bzdelik. He has something special. He overacheived at Air Force and has had zero support or talent at CU. They're just not committed to basketball. Don't forget that this guy has also coached the Denver Nuggets. Getting a guy that has experience at the highest level is something you shouldn't overlook. He coaches with passion and fire. I'm sorry to see him leave, he's been in Colorado his last three gigs and he's an awesome coach. Best of luck to him. Calm down WF fans he'll impress you.

This is pathetic.  Boot the guy who filled in at a very difficult time, maintained commitments, had some pretty good seasons, and hire an ex-Colorado coach?  Paul Hewitt and Sidney Lowe kept their jobs.  Who does this guy at Wake think he is?  Gaudio deserved another year or two.  Bad karma move by Wake.  It's tough, but I'm bumping NC State basketball ahead of Wake as far my rooting interest in the Big 4 goes.
