Rivers ends recruitment, commits to Duke

Austin Rivers -- a star at Winter Park High in Florida who is ranked No. 1 at Rivals.com, No. 2 at MaxPreps.com and No. 3 at Scout.com in the Class of 2011 --has verbally committed to Duke, multiple recruiting analysts (Scout.com's Evan Daniels, Rivals.com's Eric Bossi and ESPN.com's Paul Biancardi) reported Thursday morning.

"He picked Duke because of [Mike Krzyzewski] and his staff," Winter Park coach David Bailey told Biancardi. "There is a ton of tradition at Duke, and it was the best place for him from a basketball and academic standpoint."

Rivers is a 6-foot-4 guard and the son of Celtics coach Doc Rivers.

He chose Duke over North Carolina, Kansas and Florida, where he was once committed.

Rivers' commitment to Duke leaves Adonis Thomas as MaxPreps.com's highest-rated prospect yet to announce his college decision. The 6-6 wing from Melrose High in Memphis is ranked No. 3 in the Class of 2011 and is still considering Arkansas, Florida, Memphis, Tennessee and UCLA. Thomas is visiting UCLA this weekend along with No. 12 Quinn Cook, a 6-0 point guard from Oak Hill Academy in Virginia.

$duke$ I have lived, seen, and experienced more in my years than you'll ever know.  As an alumni, I support my team and fully expect a rebound from last year.  Needless to say with your writing skills, you're not a Duke grad.  Probably not a college grad period.  Enjoy your recruiting success as a fan for now.  UNC will be back whether you want to admit it or not.

So royzboyz if you expect duke to have a early exit then what the hell do you think unc will do, maybe a early exit in the NIT.
I mean cmon man if you belive that then your knowlege of college basketball is slim to none. Which is prob right I mean 95% of unc fans know nothing of college basketball so you are prob in that 95%

Who's upset?  As expected Rivers comitted to Duke.  No suprise there.  Unfortunately, Duke's bench full of 3 pt shooters is what it is.  A bench.  5 men at a tme on  the floor, with no legit post presence. (and don't counter with the Plumlees lol)  Chances are this seasons NCAA tourney will not consist of the major upsets and give Duke a cake walk to the final four.  I smell another cold 3 pt shooting tourney and early exit for the Rat and his cheese nibbling cronies!  $duke$ don't get your panties in a wad.  Go rent you a Christian Laettner/Brian Davis Homosexual porn flick.

UNC better get rolling on getting recruits because Harrison Barnes will be one and done after his freshman campaign.

I think Kyrie is one and done if he has a sensational freshman season like J Wall and D Rose.  I would love to see Rivers and Irving together but I just have to believe that they will not play together.

Dean nose a lot. It's funny a UNC fan would talk about Duke beating Butler in the title game after that garbage Michigan State team they beat the year before. Hey Roy there's a bus, throw some of your kids under it.
