ACC is always over-rated.
I guess winning the National Championship the past two years is over-rated?

Syracuse (who crushed St John's at the Garden)
    home field advantage?

What has everyone else done? Win conference games?  Well damn, I would hope so!  Before the beginning of the season, Duke looked like they had a monster line up playing #4 Kansas St, #2 Michigan St, and a rematch with Bulter.  Low and behold they run them all through, and now they haven't done anything.  Look at the AP/Coach Polls tomorrow.   You definitely won't be seeing Duke as # 6.  Bottom Line, just because you are in the Big East, doesn't mean squat.  Win your tourney, win the championship, then come back and talk.

Here's the bottom line.  Not who've they lost to.  Who've they BEAT????  The ACC is PUTRID!!  Shouldn't get more than 3-4 bids in reality.  Fact - Pitt lost to St John's on a last second shot.  Duke got run out!  And St John's is the 6th or 7th best team in the BE.  What has Duke done to deserve to be ranked ahead of , oh say Pitt, Kansas, Texas, SD, or, in reality, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Georgetown, even Syracuse (who crushed St John's at the Garden)?  Bottom line, Duke is over-rated just because they're Duke and the ACC is always over-rated.

UL is the most underated team on this list.  5 wins against teams on this list including blowout wins over Uconn and St Johns (by TWENTY FIVE). Of the 4 losses to teams on the list, 3 were on the road with one being in OT and another by 3.

All of them with having guys injured all year. They are the healthiest they have been in a while and will be one of the most dangerous teams on the list come March.

I don't see how you can't move Duke up.  They didn't lose this week while every single team in front of them did.  They really have 0 bad losses (Florida State on the road is a tough game for anyone, St. Johns can beat anybody obviously).

Ohio State has lost 2 in a row.  Leaving them number 1 though is fine though because they two losses have been to ranked teams.  OSU at #1 is okay.

But Pitt at 2?  3 losses, one horrible loss (Tennessee, who has lost to a handful of unranked teams).  They also cut it close with Providence, and are coming off a loss.  Putting them at number 2 is just wrong.

Texas at 3 is also wrong.  Losing to USC isn't okay.  Losing to Nebraska isn't okay.  That's two bad losses.  I have no problem with them at 5 or 6.  But at 3 coming off a loss to Nebraska is ridiculous.

Kansas in the top 5 is okay.  They're coming off a bad loss to Kansas State, but they deserve the top 5.

Here's a much better  top 5:

1.  Ohio State (0 bad losses)
2.  Duke (0 bad losses)
3.  Kansas (1 bad loss)
4.  Pitt (1 bad loss)
5.  Texas (2 bad losses)

Lose twice in a 10 day span and move up to #1.  Yeah that makes sense.  Normally I mostly agree with Gary's rankings (even could buy into the leaving them OSU at #1 last week after loss #1) but this is just pathetic.

Gary, c'mon. Duke at 6? I have no problem with Ohio top. You could say San Diego State has lost to the only good team it played, but I can give them being ahead of Duke. But Pittsburg, Texas and're having a laugh, right?

Pitt lost to Tennessee!! Which is worse than losing to Florida State or St. Johns. Oh yes, they also lost to St. Johns. Losing to ND not too bad, but its still 3 loses, one of which is bad. But I'll give you its 3 losses to tourney teams - Duke only has 2 losses to Tourney teams.

Texas lost to USC - Far, far worse than losing to St. Johns. Nebraska? Funny how you don't apply the losses out side the top 50 RPI to Texas. Pitt and UConn losses understanable (though UCONN one is looking iffy), but its still four losses, 2 of which are not to Tourney teams. PLUS, the Big 12 is only slightly better than the ACC. K-State, Baylor and Texas A-M all below par.

So that brings us to Kansas. Equal losses, but only one to a tourney team. Loss to Texas (at home) about same as loss to Florida State (on the Road). Loss to K-State at home FAR worse than blow out to St. Johns on the road (ND suffered same fate, and 2 other ranked teams also beaten there). Plus Duke beat K-State on a "neutral" court, AND the Big 12 is only lightly less pittiful than the ACC. Which is a pity, as Kansas played almost no one per conference play. Unless you think almost losing to UCLA at home was a good result.

Again, you have an anti-Duke side which becomes more obvious on close calls. You do not hold the teams above Duke to the same standard you hold Duke to.
