KU's Taylor reinstated

Posted on: March 2, 2011 8:36 am

Kansas junior Tyshawn Taylor will be in uniform for Wednesday night's game at Allen Fieldhouse against Texas A&M, according to a report in the Kansas City Star.

Taylor had been suspended for a "violation of team rules" since Feb. 21. He missed the Jayhawks' past two games -- easy wins over Oklahoma State and Oklahoma -- and was replaced in the starting lineup by Elijiah Johnson, who averaged 10.0 points and 2.0 assists in those two games. Taylor is averaging 8.8 points and 4.7 assists per game.

Kansas is 27-2 and ranked No. 2 in the latest AP poll.

So basically they sent him to his room after a spanking, ahh poor baby!!!!!. We criticize schools like BYU,SDSU when they start beating people and have decent records and ask are they qualified for the dance, but you cant criticize them for the way they handle suspending a player. When they say theyre done for team violation they dont bring them back for the rest of the season. Funny how its close to tourney time and oh now he is reinstated. So no lesson learned, he will get in trouble again and depending on if they need him at a critical time of the season they will bring him back then too! WAY TO GO BYU!!!! Show them how to run a decent program.

What a soft-headed, misinformed post. Did you happen to peruse all of the Kansas' fan's posts? I for one, and a ton of Jayhawk Nation would rather see him ride pine right on thru the tourney...at least I would. I've seen far too many instances of either trying to push the ball up court too fast or making a high school-sloppy-pass turnover and top that off with odd, hurried and desperate shot selection when theyre in a tight game. I would much rather have Elijah Johnson on the floor. He  has all the skills Tyshawn has, but he, unlike Tyshawn doesn't play above or outside himself. Personally Tyshawn is affable,  funny, and has a smile that makes you want him to do well, and if he gets a handle on his self responsibility and in game judgement, he will be very very good.

You are comparing a teams rules violation to a school so buried in puritainism (unless they want a flock of 14 yr old brides), That portion, and Im sure others of BYU's "Honor Code" are ridiculous thinking... pre-marital sex?....outta here!......cup of coffee, gtfo! All this coming from a religion that didn't believe the suspended player was an actual person, until the world, yet again passed them by. (READ: Mormonism and race). If you look at Mormonism's rules, bylaws, beliefs or whatever youd like to call it, you will see they have had to constantly change their tune, as, for one example, their belief that there was a race living on the moon also. That got dropped a long time ago, but in any event, KU is a State School which means we follow the Law, Team and NCAA rules, and the incident was handled. BYU is a private school that follows the words of a drunken huckster who had golden plates delivered to him by an angel. John smith also claimed he had deciphered Ancient Egyptian Cuneiform, which supposedly gave further creedence to the Mormon faith...but then the rosetta stone was found, and he wasnt correct about 1 word he claimed to translate.......Good for BYU, GO HONOR CODE!!!!!11

Well, a drug test in college isn't as easy as "go pee in this."  You walk up to a panel of some people.  Drop your shorts and pee into a cup without touch yourself or the cup.  Kind of embarrassing.

Of course the K-State fan has "a friend with some inside info".  If he would have had someone alter a drug test, he would have been suspended by the NCAA.  You obviously don't know anything about the drug testing procedures now in place in college.  I heard the same thing as a previous post.  The rumor is the female player he was with also go suspended.  Taylor is an okay player, but doesn't value possessions as he should.  I think KU proved that they are very good with or without him.  Johnson provides as good or better defense and a better shot than Taylor.  To all of the other "haters" about the timing, it was reported by all media outlets as a "minor violation of team rules", not NCAA rules or anything like that.  Taylor is 21 years old and in college, think about what you were doing back then at that age.  As for the Huskers fan in the first post, like others posted you have absolutely no room to talk about criminals and thugs.  My friend was a cop in Kearney during the "heyday" of Nebraska football and the Peter brothers were arrested by him for being drunk and getting into a fight in Kearney, Nebraska.  Nothing was heard about the incident and obviously no suspensions.  The list goes on and on.  You could even go as far back as Dean Steinkhuler admitting that he took steroids while at Nebraska after he was in the pros.

And that's the "slice of pie" that I was refering to.
My mistake.  You did indeed mention getting a "slice of pie".

I heard he got his swerve on in Allen Fieldhouse with a member of the women's b-ball team.

And that's the "slice of pie" that I was refering to.

I have a friend with some inside info, that says he had a girl pee in a cup for him on a drug test because he knew he would fail.  They tested the urine and found out it was a woman's urine.  He was suspended for that. That doesn't sound anything like curfew to me.

Somehow I feel that the two-game suspension was ample punishment for this transgression. Staying out past curfew to try and get a slice of pie isn't a crime, it's a rules infraction. I believe that, had this infraction happened last night, he would have still been suspended for two games.

Wait...  Staying out past curfew?  I heard he got his swerve on in Allen Fieldhouse with a member of the women's b-ball team.  I agree though that two games works as a punishment for this.
