Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has hired former Rice head coach and current Memphis assistant Willis Wilson to be its next men's basketball coach, a source told CBSSports.com on Thursday.

An official announcement is expected soon.

Wilson coached Rice from 1992 to 2008.

He's been on Josh Pastner's staff at Memphis the past two seasons.

Good to see Coach Wilson get another head coaching opportunity in Division I.  He was unfairly treated by his alma mater after being promised to open their renovated facility (Tudor Fieldhouse) only to be fired after the 2008 season; a season where they had to play their home games at a variety of venues around the city of Houston during the renovation period.
