Dayton's Brian Gregory has reached an agreement in principle to become the next men's basketball coach at Georgia Tech, a source told CBSSports.com on Monday.

An official announcement is expected soon.

A source said Gregory informed his players at a meeting early Monday.

Gregory spent eight seasons at Dayton and took the Flyers to two NCAA tournaments. The former Michigan State assistant is replacing Paul Hewitt at Georgia Tech. The ACC school fired Hewitt earlier this month after five NCAA tournaments in 11 seasons.

The best GT can do is get a guy who has won more than 21 games per year since he's been there! BG is really good, he cares about kids, and GT is LUCKY to have him. It is a sad day for Dayton, but a happy one for GT.

Haha!  That is the best GT could do?  The fans in dayton are rejoicing at this news.  GT just did them a favor - ud was stuck w/ Gregory through the 2018 season and now they are free!
