Tyler Zeller and John Henson have decided to pass on early entry into the NBA Draft and return to North Carolina next season, coach Roy Williams announced Wednesday.

"John and Tyler certainly considered their options, but in the end it came down to how much they enjoyed not only college basketball, but being part of the collegiate experience both on and off the court," Williams said. "I spoke to about 10 NBA teams on their behalf and gave them that information, but their individual decisions are less about the NBA and more about what they wanted to do right now and the experiences they are enjoying."

Williams said Harrison Barnes is still weighing his options.

The freshman wing is a projected top five pick.

"Harrison is not as far along in his decision-making process as were Tyler and John," Williams said. "I am still gathering information on him from NBA teams and hope to provide him with all of that information by the end of next week."

Zeller averaged 15.7 points and 7.2 rebounds last season while Henson averaged 11.7 points and 10.1 rebounds.

They helped North Carolina win the ACC and make the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament.

He's been doing that since he was at Kansas it's called blackmail.

I think it's choice that a Kentucky fan has the gall to question the integrity of ANY other teams coach.  Right or wrong, ask any college basketball fan outside of Kentucky, who's the sleaziest coach in NCAA major college basketball and the vast majority, without hesitation, will name a certain man in Lexington.

Give Zeller some props.  He was much better this year than I ever thought he would be, and I'm a Duke grad.  I think all 3 should come back, but I wouldn't fault Barnes as he looks like a top 5 pick.  I think Zeller is a lottery pick, because there are so few back to the bucket centers nowadays who can score on their own.  He needs to get stronger, which will take time.  But her runs the floor well and has a good jump shot.  Expect him to be a very solid 20-25 minute a game center, which is all most teams use.
Sad about Irving, but most are projecting him first overall, hard to pass that up.

No way Barnes would go #1 in the draft. I love the kid and think he has tons of potential. But , the NBA is the big boys league and the talent level is out of this world. College fans have a hard time understanding that great college players do not equal great NBA players. Henson is an exceptional defender who never stops running the court. He would never make it in the NBA. He is to soft and does not have the ability to create his own shot. Zellner on the other hand has tons of potential. Barnes will definately be a career NBAer also, but an All-Star in the NBA ? that I do not know.

Sullinger - A great college basketball player that will need to develop a strong outside shot if he wants to play in the NBA. He has a big frame, but lacks the height to do much damage down low.

Of the three, Zeller had the best season.  I doubt Zeller nor Henson will ever be picked really high in the draft so this doesn't appear all that news worthy to me.  No disrespect to either player but it is what it is.  Barnes spent most of the season trying to live up to expectations so unless his family has financial issues, he should return as well.  They could all three do something special next season but with the season Zeller had, he should go if he can.  I doubt his chances will be much better after his senior season but I could be wrong.

Wonder if a lock-out has anything to do with the decisions.

@Jedi: Read a little closer, 'boy.' I wasn't simply referring to your ability to spell but to your logic and ability to communicate points, as well. Shoot, I misspelled nonexistent. There goes all of my credibility, not to mention the validity of my comment!

First, the name is Tar Heels so if you insist on using lame insults like 'Crapolina' and 'Tarholes' at least do so correctly. Tar Holes.

Second, what talent hasn't lived up to its hype? John Henson is one of the nation's best defenders in the paint. He has improved drastically over two seasons. Harrison Barnes came around in the second half of the season. Kendall Marshall plays as well as most PGs in the country. Dexter Strickland, while offensively limited, is an amazing defender. Reggie Bullock was injured the entire season. Zeller, as you admitted, plays very well. McDonald, despite your erroneous claims, continues to improve. So, other than a slow start, who exactly is not living up to their hype?

The reality is you have little to support your position. North Carolina was a few minutes away from reaching the Final Four this season yet, with the same team returning minus Knox and the addition of more talent, they can't be reasonably expected to do the same or more with a year of experience? That makes complete sense.

And please spare us your axe-grinding, irrelevant diatribes on Roy Williams. Your insistence on slamming him multiple times in a thread about a team and not its coach reveals you as the ill-informed hater you really are.
