Thank you, Wake Forest.

By beating Duke late Sunday you managed to make next weekend's showdown bigger than it was already going to be, and it was already going to be super huge. Now, it's going to be super duper huge. Because barring some voting irregularities the top two teams in the rankings will meet Saturday at FedExForum.

It should be No. 1 Memphis vs. No. 2 Tennessee.

It should be two rivals with a combined record of 48-2.

It should be no wonder that the asking price for courtside seats is up to $10,000 each.

Memphis vs. Tennessee just got a lot bigger

The schedule with memphis isn't a matter of SOS. Because yes they do have a very good SOS.

It's a matter of Consistency which they don't have right now. yes they played Oklahoma, UCONN, USC, Gonzaga all those teams.

But game after game they don't have to bring their "A" game, because they play in a lesser conference. Therefore players don't have to play as many minutes, and foul trouble is nothing because your 2nd string big man can easily play quality minutes against a Tulane or Houston.

Yes the SEC is down, but playing against, CHISM, Hendrix, Patterson, Speights, Ogilvy, Curtis, the shot blocker guy from Miss St.,

playing those guys game after game, prepares you easily for the likes of Dorsey or Dozier

On the flip side, Memphis isn't prepared for our Guard play.

of course this is my opinion

Memphis vs. Tennessee just got a lot bigger

Is it possible that Memphis might get too geeked for this because they are #1, it's at home and they are playing THE state school??? If they can overcome the pressure of UT early, it MIGHT be close. But Memphis will never get over the second-best-state-shcool-in-the-sta

te moniker- Football, Basketball and any other ball you can come up with.

Finally, UT gets the dollars, the talent and the pub. Memphis gets the left overs. Fact. Sorry UM fans.

I think it's gonna be a great game, very high-pace and high scoring......but I truely think that Tennessee will pull off the upset on the undefeated Memphis Tigers. It just depends on if the Vols big men step up against Dorsey and Dozier. Thats the key to the game. Can't wait to watch it though

Memphis vs. Tennessee just got a lot bigger

Hey there, Rookie, BadAzzDan..  Just have USC bring over that junk defense to Memphis one more time..  OHHH and if (and most possibly, when) memphis DOES face UCLA in the final four...  well..  the mighty bruins will get stuck at 100 championships.  BUT in the meantime enjoy the hype and ESPN's production of College gameday, the University of Memphis pregame video montage, and also, the BEST college basketball game of the year..  The freakish speed and quickness of Derrick Rose, the Power in the Paint of Joey Dorsey, the Scintillating skills of Chris Douglas-Roberts, the bodaciously busty bombshells of the National champion pom squad, the stunningly orderly hair on Jon Calipari's head (the heir to Lute Olson) the raucous fans chanting in time for the pride of an entire city to the beat of the Memphis pep band playing snippets of Memphis-style gangta rap.  Not even HOLLYWOOD (your neck of the woods) could have scripted it any better!  Ohhh and yes..  the University of Tennessee Volunteers will be there too.

Gumbo, grits, moonshine, muddy water, Elvis.

It just got alot bigger, and one guy said you need to grip it. so...

I think Tennessee will win it, in a close one.  Tennessee 90, Memphis 60.  Book it...

Memphis vs. Tennessee just got a lot bigger

I am sure this has never happened before in college basketball history - after 151 games, the top six ranked teams in the country in every poll have lost 27.27% of their combined losses to one team not ranked in the top 6.

Longhorns - 3 of the 11 losses.

UT is improving in the FT area, and they hit them when it matters. UT is around 70% from the line inside of 4 minutes.  Memphis can't throw it in the ocean.  Memphis is great (the best, stats-wise) at FedEx, but I'll say it again-  CHRIS LOFTON.  Check his line at the end of this game and you will be amazed.  Don't know who's gonna win, but  'Often Lofton'  will be in range when he walks in the gym.
