Thank you, Wake Forest.

By beating Duke late Sunday you managed to make next weekend's showdown bigger than it was already going to be, and it was already going to be super huge. Now, it's going to be super duper huge. Because barring some voting irregularities the top two teams in the rankings will meet Saturday at FedExForum.

It should be No. 1 Memphis vs. No. 2 Tennessee.

It should be two rivals with a combined record of 48-2.

It should be no wonder that the asking price for courtside seats is up to $10,000 each.

Memphis vs. Tennessee just got a lot bigger

I agree, we have Tulane on the road with 3,000 of their close friends and we both need to focus. Of course, it's not like this game had to be #1 Vs. #2 to get any attention but it does make it sweeter if both teams get passed Wednesday.

The Vols are good and I'm not going to predict the game but it should be close. If we (Tigers) lose then I can't see how you don't move the #2 team up but let's hope it doesn't come to that. In the reverse, Tenn shouldn't drop too far considering the game is at Memphis. Afraid the ACC/PAC10 teams would probably move ahead of them but unless it's a blow out they shouldn't.

Very true...both teams have business to take care of before the big matchup.  Assuming they both win, the atmosphere here for that game will be nothing short of amazing.  I can't wait!!  If Memphis wins, hopefully all of the haters will finally just shutup.  If UT wins, they will jump to #1 and Memphis will probably drop to #3 (unless it is a blowout loss).

Memphis vs. Tennessee just got a lot bigger

I hate to sound like a freakin' coach or something, but there's the matter of an SEC Western Division team coming into Knoxville mid week, and Jeff Lebo's Auburn team would love nothing more than to catch a Tennessee team looking too much at Memphis.  It will only be a #1 vs. #2 match-up if we win against Auburn (which in the big picture, is more important to our season anyway).  Saturday's game will be a great one no matter what, and I'm looking forward to it, but I hope we don't get ahead of ourselves and forget to take care of business on Wednesday.

i dont think tenn. will get a #1 ranking even in a victoryYou have to tho. If Tenn wins the head to head matchup and wins, there's no doubt they're the better team. But, they are the polls and have been known to do that. IMO, the Tigers would have to slide to second.

Memphis vs. Tennessee just got a lot bigger

Anyone else hear the rumor that UT may break out some black uni's?

Yes, i did hear that TennFan. I heard it last night, and i agree with you. I'm torn as well. I guess I'll be happy with any color they wear, as long as they win. This is what college basketball is all about people! #1 vs. #2 in the REGULAR SEASON, not the tourney! Gonna be a barn burner. My vote- Tennessee comes into FedExForum and pulls off the upset 109-106 in OT!

Go Vols!

Can't wait and this will be the game of games.  I got my tickets hope you all have yours, and I will be there early with game day to let Jay BIAS towards the ACC and UNC know who is really #1.  Back to the game, you know this could be the first of two meetings between these two teams.  I can see them meeting down the road.

Grip it and hold on ..Doubters

Weak Conf.... No NBA No1s.... Not Tested...THUGS.....
Everyone is going to run with this game 1 vs 2. We will hear about the Vols last showing with Memphis and how Chris Lofton is key.  But Memphis Tiger have been waiting for this one for a while. They want to leave all the doubters saying they are number one or Vols didn't play well on the road. The Memphis fans will not be throwing bottles after this game.
I hope the cameras still on these two coaches because Peal and Cal will be showing more emotion then any fan 100 miles away.

This will be an Irish fisticuffs showdown but it will stay on the court.

Memphis vs. Tennessee just got a lot bigger

I've been waiting for this game since last year!  And Thanks to Duke, this game just got bigger!!!!!  Talk about PRESSURE!  Memphis' pressure D, against UT's pressure D!  The pressure of Memphis' going undefeated into the post season, and the pressure on UT of being to lone team to stop the Tiger's undefeated regular season!!!!!!  Boys, this game is about Backyard Supremacy, East vs West, ORANGE vs BLUE.  Throw out all the stats, throw out the rankings!  This game is about a year worth of Bragging Rights!!!!!  Go Tigers!!!!!!!!!

UT #1 Yes, well look at there ...Memphis #2 RPI  I guess teams they play do mean something? It will be a good game but don't think TN has seen a D-Fense like what they will see in Memphis. Yea TN will be there biggest challenge so far, These teams hate each other, I hope the refs let them play..
