Thank you, Wake Forest.

By beating Duke late Sunday you managed to make next weekend's showdown bigger than it was already going to be, and it was already going to be super huge. Now, it's going to be super duper huge. Because barring some voting irregularities the top two teams in the rankings will meet Saturday at FedExForum.

It should be No. 1 Memphis vs. No. 2 Tennessee.

It should be two rivals with a combined record of 48-2.

It should be no wonder that the asking price for courtside seats is up to $10,000 each.

regardless of what happens, this will be a good game. i have faith my tigers will pull it out. despite what ppl may be saying about the uab game, we did indeed pull it out when it mattered the most. sure, it would have been nice to pull away with a 10 point lead in the final couple minutes, but it didnt happen and we still won. nothing special, we just pulled it out and hit shots at the right time.

we got this

What a tremendous story of Wake Forest given the adveristy faced this past summer with the passing of Coach Prosser.  Picked 11 or 12 by the preseason prognosticators, this team is now knocking on the door of having a first round bye in the ACC Tournament.  So Parrish, you gonna give the Deacs their due and call them at least a bubble team from the ACC????  No glaring ugly losses to speak of.  Charlotte and Georgia outside ACC play early on, but those aren't that severe compared to knocking off the Dookies on the plus side.  Very athletic team that seems to be jelling at the right time.  Ish Smith still gets a little out of control, but the strong play of frosh James Johnson and Jeff Teague give this team tremendous quickness but still enough of an inside game to hang tight.  Be very interesting to see how they fare next Sunday against UNC.  One would assume Ty Lawson et al will make it back, so no excuses for the Heels (as if they would need any with their level of talent).  Wake could easily be 8 - 3 ACC with blown losses at NC State and Clemson (although one might argue their home win vs VA Tech early on could have gone the other direction).  Be nice to see how far this team can take it this year, but regardless, if this group stays together combined with next year's incoming recruiting class, watch out Duke and UNC.  Tobacco Road might just deviate 75 miles or so west to Winston-Salem.

I grew up in memphis but I am a die-hard vol fan, I went to school there.  I think UT is going to win b/c we are nowhere near as bad at free throws as Memphis.  They have been struggling with much weaker opponents than UT has recently too.  The home advantage will help Memphis a lot though../

another idiot! Tennessee already beat Vandy, by 20! Nice try though. Maybe you should worry about making the tournament.

This should be the best game of the year. As much as I want Memphis to win, I just don't know. If Memphis plays like they did at UAB it will be a UT victory. If UT plays like they did at LSU and Kentucky, Memphis will roll. Just wish I could afford the tickets. But I believe you will be watching two #1 seeds in March.
