Here's hoping the title game is close, at least

SAN ANTONIO -- Four great teams couldn't even give us one great game.

Seriously?

Chalk me up as disappointed.

But there is no denying how impressive Kansas and Memphis were while recording victories here Saturday. The Jayhawks jumped to a 40-12 lead and never trailed in their 84-66 victory over North Carolina. That came after Memphis overwhelmed UCLA in a 78-63 win that provided John Calipari with an opportunity to take a shot at one of his biggest critics, Bill Plaschke.

Plachke wrote a column for Saturday morning's Los Angeles Times that described the UCLA-Memphis game as a coaching mismatch. He basically wrote that Howland is great and Calipari is not while explaining how though Memphis was favored by 2.5 points UCLA was actually favored by "one coach."

Naturally, somebody asked Calipari about this after Memphis blew past UCLA.

Here's the exchange ...

Reporter: There was a column in the Los Angeles Times today that said this was a coaching mismatch ....

Calipari: I don't think Ben is that bad . I respect Ben and think he's a heckuva coach.

Classic, right?

Calipari provided a little joke and allowed the moment to pass without many words, instead choosing to let the play of his players deliver any message. And how about the play of his players?

"Memphis has obviously played better than anybody in this tournament so far," said Kansas coach Bill Self. "But we're going to try to change that Monday."

If you're wondering -- and I know you are -- Vegas has already posted a line on Monday's title game.

Kansas opened as a 1-point favorite over Memphis.

So this is essentially an even matchup.

Well Parrish, I think your hope came true.

What a fantastic game! Kudos to Kansas for pulling off the improbable comeback and making this championship a memorable one.
Congrats Jayhawks!

I'm hoping for another blowout myself. I have enjoyed Memphis ripping apart all these teams that Vegas insists will beat the Tigers.

This game is gonna be a good one. just like unc and that "POS" psycho t where gonna hang with KU. screw psycho t he doesnt deserve the award. Beasley was the best player in the NCAA this year but hansborogh deserves it cuz he is a junior and he played on a top 5 team and he hustled REALLY hard. oh well. As to the game KU has a definate advantage they got 4 bigs inside and while memphis has big talented guards i think the actual speed that ku plays at will overwhelm memphis.

KU may have slightly more size in the post, but Memphis definitely has a size advantage in their guards.  It will be interesting to see how the teams match up.  I hope KU can run another team out of the gym that they weren't supposed to be able to run with.

This game will be classic. Both teams are great offensive and defensive efficiency wise. This will be a true match up of teams that like to get up and down, but also pride themselves on great defense. If Kansas' three is falling, I give them the edge because they have way better size and depth than the tigers. Lets just say if Dorsey plays like he did most of the game against UCLA, KU wont have a problem with Taggart and Dozier(two ragdoll types). Also Bill Plachke is a joke and a half.....

The games yesterday were so boring. Except for 10 minutes in the UNC-Kansas game. I even quit watching the games for awhile, because I had better things to do. While everyone is so thrilled that all the number 1 seeds made the Final Four I think it made for exactly no excitment and Davidson or anyother Elite Eight team would have made a a welcomed addition to the Final Four.

Vegas has Kansas one point over Memphis?  Well, I'd say Memphis covers.
