It's not a good day to be an ex-SEC athlete.
First came the story of how former Arkansas football player Matt Jones was busted chopping lines of cocaine inside a car. Then came the story of how former Florida basketball player Teddy Dupay is facing felony charges of rape, aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault following an arrest in Utah that is the result of Dupay getting "a little rough" with a woman.
And those aren't my words, by the way.
Those are Dupay's words.
After the woman was found to have bruises on her outer right thigh, scratches on her back, large bruises on her back, large bruises on her upper arm and shoulder, a swollen eye and two broken ribs, Dupay admitted to investigators that things got "a little rough" but denied raping her because, as he put it, "How can you rape someone you love?"
Wow.
Anyway, in honor of Dupay's affection for gambling, I'm willing to set the odds at 1-to-5 that the former Gator finds himself facing serious jailtime, where upon he just might learn how rapes between loved ones unfortunately happen all the time.
As do rapes between cellmates.
