Cowboys fan or NFL fan??? Braves fan or MLB fan??

i keep hearing how Cowboy fans that dont live in Texas are bandwagoners. I have my reasons for being a Cowboys fan, as do others.  But more than being a Cowboy fan, I am a fan of the NFL. Honestly i'm glad that we dont win the super bowl every year. I like balance, so i have no problem with the Eagles signing Asante Samuel. I like to see hard faught games where you dont know who will win.  While playing i always took time to appriciate the fine litte details (like running lanes, angles, bumps/ holes in the field, smell of the grass before the game ).  So to see a team that wins 16 games isnt exactly my cup of tea, but its nice once a decade i would guess. I find it hard to root just for one team and say i hate all the others.  I follow college football and like to watch the kids go pro and usually follow them on their new teams.  I very seldomly hate teams (Patriots), but when i do it is usually for a short while. Patriots until they fire thier coach. 1995 Steelers are an example of a team i hated because i felt they cheated the Colts out of a Super Bowl, but after 3 years i moved on and got over it. As for rivalries, i hate to lose to a division rival just like most. Which brings me to my question...Is it bad to be more of an NFL fan than just a one Team fan??????

I've been called a few things for picking my favorite teams.  Alot of it has come from accessablilty (TV).  I was told that you cant really fully understand what it is like to be a ______(pick a team to fill in the blank) fan until you live in that state and then understand what the communtiy feels. I could disagree anymore. I dont think that just because you live in Phillym that you should root for everything Philly.  If you want to than that great, but you shouldnt be forced to. Is it bad to root for teams outside your homestate or hometown????  I understand that if a team moved to my team i would go watch them play, but not change them to my new favorite team.

My reasoning for being a Anahim Mighty Duck fan is really dumb. I will post why i am a fan of what i am. But it states that i became a fan of them because of the TV series Mighty Ducks that fought evil vilians. I havent seen that show in over 10 years, but as a young kid that molded my opinion. Its little things that make you pick a team. I usually root for teams that have the same kid of personalitly i do. Rays in baseball for an example. They arent my favorite team, but i really enjoy the way they run their team and how they play.

So i'd like to ask those bold ?'s and Why are you a fan of the teams that you are?

Cowboys fan or NFL fan??? Braves fan or MLB fan??

Im a fan of Atlanta teams because I have lived here since I was like 6, and for that reason I will allways want the Braves/Falcons/Thrashers/Hawks to win there perspective championships every single year.  Now if I had to move to Tamba Bay tomorrow I would be perfictly happy watching the Rays all the time.  Sports is exciting regardless of who is playing...

Why I like the: Jets

You just heard it.

Why I like the: Mets

Basically same reason, dad and bro are yank fans.

Why I like the: Suns

Studly,

Is it bad to be more of an NFL fan than just a one Team fan??????

Not at all. That's not me, but there's nothing wrong with it. I'm a fan of the Titans. I'll watch other teams, and I like the NFL, but I mainly just care about the Titans.

Is it bad to root for teams outside your homestate or hometown????  I

Once again, not at all. Neither of my favorite teams are near where I live.

As for the reasons why I like who I like, here they are.

Braves:

I'll be honest, TBS is why I like the Braves. When I got into baseball, who was on TV? You guessed it, the Braves.

Titans:

Don't really know. I guess I rooted for them when they were in the super-bowl and I never really stopped.

Cowboys fan or NFL fan??? Braves fan or MLB fan??

Growing up I was a Broncos fan. Never lived in Colorado, but I did live in New Mexico. Every Sunday the Albuquerque station aired the Broncos so that is who I watched and cheered for.  I still like the Broncos very much, but since then I have moved to Phoenix and became a Cardinal season ticket holder, safe to say that is who I cheer for now. So I can see that there may be honest reasons people change favorite teams.

I also root for the Diamondbacks and the Braves.  D-Backs because I live in Phx. The Braves because my grandfather was a Braves fan so I guess since he liked them I just figured I would too. In truth though I follow baseball very little.

In basketball I like the Suns, and San Antonio. Why SA, I do not have a clue, just do.

All I am saying is that there could be a ton of reasons a person likes one team over another, location, family/friends, individual player, etc. My only thought is like who you like, and if people don't understand that is too bad for them, just enjoy the games, enjoy your teams, and hopefully every once in a while a Championship will come your way.

TikkiTorch, you took that the wrong way. As a fan of the NFL, i like the balance. I've considered myself a die hard Cowboys fan my whole life. But it would get pretty monotonous if we won the super bowl every year. I think that would be bad for the NFL.  Although i would not compain if they made the playoffs every year.

Anyone who is really a fan of their team wouldn't make the remark, "Honestly i'm glad that we dont win the super bowl every year" what a ridiculous statement. If you're any kind of true fan you want your team to win the SB every year, they may or may not, but you should want them to.

+ given that you're allegedly a Cowboys fan you should change your statement to "Honestly i'm glad that we dont win the super bowl any playoff games every year, " that w/b more accurate.

Start small baby steps.

Cowboys fan or NFL fan??? Braves fan or MLB fan??

I am a fans first because they were the first team (of any sport) that i saw play. They beat my dad's Houston Oilers.

Braves, I saw Steve Avery pitch an almost nohitter. The way Avery pitched was how i tried to pitch in Farm League and Little League. Avery got me hooked on the Braves. Just because he wasnt on the team doesnt mean i should only root for his team (there are many more players on the team). On of my favorite sayings will work here....You can lead a horse to the pond but you cant make him drink. Avery led me to the Braves and I've stuck with them ever since.

Basketball and hockey.....i dont really follow either that much. Basketball i started following about 3 years ago. I for one hated Michael Jordon.  I enjoy team basketball and Jordon was the team. If i liked any team back when i was in middle school, it was the Timberwolves or Spurs.  As for hockey i've watched maybe 3-4 games ever.  I am a Ducks fan since i watched the cartoon about the Mighty Ducks...When i first saw the cartoon when i was a lot younger, i started looking to see the actual team.  i was torn between them and the Blues, but i grew attached to Paul Karya. I live in Iowa, and there are no pro sports teams.

So there my story.
