Something to make you puke

Sports fans can be demented, mean, angry, nasty, violent and just plain crass.
And George Lampman is cashing in on it.

Lampman is taking advantage of the season-ending knee injury suffered by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to make a buck.

Lampman, who has a silk-screen printing company in Pittsburgh, has unveiled t-shirts that laud Kansas City Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard, the man who knocked Brady out for the season, as some kind of hero.

For $19.99, you can buy a Bernard Pollard fan club shirt, complete with a No. 12 (Brady's number) circled and crossed out. The shirt says the fan club was established Sept. 7, 2008, which is the day Brady went down.

Sick.

To me, this is a sign of how demented some fans have become.
Lampman doesn't argue the point.

"I can totally see where you're coming from," said Lampman, who is a diehard Steelers fan.

Isn't it crass, I asked?

"I can't disagree," he said.

So why do it? There's sadly a market out there. I spoke to Lampman Wednesday night for five minutes.

"I've sold six while we were talking," he said.

So who's ordering? The New York Jets fans are buying them with on addendum.

"They want them sent overnight so they can have them for Sunday," Lampman said.

Disgusting.

Don't people who buy these shirts realize that this is a man's livelihood we're talking about? When I mentioned that to Lampman, he callously replied, "he's not losing any money this year and I'm sure it's no career-ending."

Pollard can't be happy about this.  He was sick about putting Brady out.

It's one thing not to like a player if you're a fan. It's another to make light of a serious situation.

Lampman said he might make up to $20,000 on the shirts. He's had 500 orders or so already.
I almost didn't write this because it only feeds the monster. But the whole issue is so sickening that I thought it needed to be pointed out just how low some of our fans have gone.

You said to this person about something they said,"this is where you sound like a typical Pats fan". You said Brady is only one person, so is this person you called a typical Pats fan. Now you are lumping us all into one category, when we don't all agree with his head start analogy. Maybe you need to shut up. You are much smarter that way.

You are an absolute idiot. How can you lump Tom Brady in with Ray Lewis, and Jamal Lewis? Ray Lewis is an accessory to murder, if not the murderer himself, and Jamal is a drug dealer. Could you please tell me what law Tom Brady broke, other than maybe, a traffic infraction? You can't. Also, how is he a womanizer? Since 2001, he has had 2 girlfriends. Bridget Moynihan, and Giselle Bundchen. After Bridget got pregnant, she kicked Tom to the curb, and he is still with Giselle. So, that's 2 girlfriends in 8 years. I know people who have had more failed marriages in less time. How is he not a family man? All he does is talk about his family. You're obviously not from the New England area, and you are just a Brady hater, because he probably kicked the crap out of your favorite football team, more than once. That doesn't give you the right to question his character, because your so jealous of him.

Get a life of your own.

DO TAKE NOTE THIS COMMENT IS FROM A COLTS FAN.  There is no excuse to revel in the long term injury of any player, be him Tom Brady, or Joe Thiesman, or Steve Young or anyone else!  Its one thing to be happy a good player for another team is unable to complete that one game.  BUT long tern injury s not something to be happy about.  And besides reveling in Tom Brady being out just means you don't hink your team could beat the Pats with him playing.

If a NY fan of any sport is going to say something about a New England area fan of any sport, be sure to speak of the way Boston fans are treated in New York, or in New Jersey for a football game.

Sorry MVP, Boston is no better. Patriot fans threw glass bottles at me in the parking lot of Foxbor wearing my Steeler shirt. Had my g/f with me. Had something to do with Kevin Henry intercepting Bledsoe that day. I was doing nothing but walking to my cah.

If you are referring Brady as a once in a lifetime talent,  Wow.  You haven't lived very long.  I've seen others (NE fans) try to throw him in the same group as Jordan for the NBA and Tiger for the PGA.   He's a good quarterback, but he doesn't transcend the sport.

I love the whining and comments like PAts were "making a mockery of their opponents".  I'm, isn't up to the opposing team to stop them?  This isn't kiddie football.  These guys get paid millions of of dollars to play and BEAT the other team.

All I have to say iis the other teams in the AFC East should wnjoy this season while they actually have a chance( I still think the pats win the east) because the ass whipping will begin again next year.

I guess we'll have to find a t-shirt printer for the next time Big Ben rides a motorcycle helmetless into an oncoming car. We can put the car's license plate number, make and model on the shirt.

Feel free.  We thought it was stupid the first time he did it too.   Although, he did it without a license, which was probably the worst part.  Injuries and stupidity happens.  Ask Cincy.

How come you didn't mention all the anti Red Sox stuff they have in NY? Because they Yankees fans would never stoop that low right? How about going to a Yankees/ Red Sox game at Yankees Stadium, and needing an armed escort, to get out of the park alive, just for wearing a Red Sox cap? I know, I'm making it up. If a NY fan of any sport is going to say something about a New England area fan of any sport, be sure to speak of the way Boston fans are treated in New York, or in New Jersey for a football game.

One fan or small group does not spoil the apple cart, but boy it sends a message I want no part of. I want to beat Tom Brady by relentless pressure, interceptions and mano ah mano, nothing less. I would take more pleasure seeing Brady being sacked and coming up with grass stuck to his facemask.

I am ashamed at the Steeler fans or anoyone who bought the T-shirt, it shows that you have sunken down to a new low.

However, after the 12 months of Chest beating Patriot Posters, the Media, ESPN, and the rest cramming New England down our throats, it is a refreshing and much needed break from all the praise. Heck they did not even win the Superbowl and I still have to hear about them 24/7, enough to make me puke.

Reminder, when Ben Roethlisberger was fighting for his life in a hospital, many Patriot posters were celebrating and joking on this site. It does not make it right for Steeler fans to get back at them, but if you kick a dog when he is down, then he gets back up, he's gonna bite you regardless of right from wrong.

As far as Boston fans being insufferable, it was in retaliation to the Yankee fans yelling in their ears for years, that is my theroy, but again I have to mention that I am a RedSox fan.....

One last point, Patriot Dynasty is an oxymoron. they are a .500 Superbowl team no matter how you slice it. Funny how certtain posters discredit the Steeler history of the 70's, but forget about the Patriots futility in the superbowl era prior to 2001.
