Something to make you puke

Posted on: September 10, 2008 8:28 pm

Sports fans can be demented, mean, angry, nasty, violent and just plain crass.
And George Lampman is cashing in on it.

Lampman is taking advantage of the season-ending knee injury suffered by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to make a buck.

Lampman, who has a silk-screen printing company in Pittsburgh, has unveiled t-shirts that laud Kansas City Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard, the man who knocked Brady out for the season, as some kind of hero.

For $19.99, you can buy a Bernard Pollard fan club shirt, complete with a No. 12 (Brady's number) circled and crossed out. The shirt says the fan club was established Sept. 7, 2008, which is the day Brady went down.

Sick.

To me, this is a sign of how demented some fans have become.
Lampman doesn't argue the point.

"I can totally see where you're coming from," said Lampman, who is a diehard Steelers fan.

Isn't it crass, I asked?

"I can't disagree," he said.

So why do it? There's sadly a market out there. I spoke to Lampman Wednesday night for five minutes.

"I've sold six while we were talking," he said.

So who's ordering? The New York Jets fans are buying them with on addendum.

"They want them sent overnight so they can have them for Sunday," Lampman said.

Disgusting.

Don't people who buy these shirts realize that this is a man's livelihood we're talking about? When I mentioned that to Lampman, he callously replied, "he's not losing any money this year and I'm sure it's no career-ending."

Pollard can't be happy about this.  He was sick about putting Brady out.

It's one thing not to like a player if you're a fan. It's another to make light of a serious situation.

Lampman said he might make up to $20,000 on the shirts. He's had 500 orders or so already.
I almost didn't write this because it only feeds the monster. But the whole issue is so sickening that I thought it needed to be pointed out just how low some of our fans have gone.

And you know this how, Moron? I noticed a lot of the people who are trashing New England sports fans (all sports) in general, don't leave an inkling as to which sorry sports teams, that they support. Saying stuff about t-shirts that say things about the Yankees is a 2 way street. If you knew anything about the Boston - New York rivalry, you would know that the Yankees have the same exact shirts, they just rag on the Red Sox. Fans of both these teams, think it is funny to see who can out do each other. The same rivalry goes for the Jets ansd the Pats, but over thwe last few years, the Pats/Colts rivalry seems to have gotten bigger than Jets/Pats. Pats fans have never had anything against Brett Favre, or Eli Manning, and wouldn't want Peyton to be out during a game against the Pats, because pats fans would know that it wasn't a complete victory without Peyton being in there.

RallyBehind#12 - Yeah that name fits you well.  Take a timeout and get Brady's dick out your ass so you can read this post!  Listen, your butt-buddy is going to be just fine especially with pussies like you riding his dick!  Let me guess, your mom didn't hug you when you were just a little prick, huh?  Now that you're a big PRICK, you need to latch on to Brady?  You're truly the sick fuck here, buddy.  Your parents should've used condoms when you were conceived!  Brady became "KING" Brady because of someone's injury.  I hope Cassell takes his job in the same manner.  Fuck you & your BUTT BUDDY!

PS  Does anyone know where I can get one of those T-shirts?  I wanna send it to Brady's new favorite target...Rally's asshole!

How many more of you morons are gonna keep saying that Tom Brady left his pregnant girlfriend. You're all wrong. She kicked him to the curb, not the other way around. Also, I love all the hypocrites out there, who keep mentioning that Tom Brady had a child out of wedlock. You people kill me. I'm sure not one of you clowns who is saying that, ever had sex out of wedlock. You gotta come up with something better than that.

I guess we'll have to find a t-shirt printer for the next time Big Ben rides a motorcycle helmetless into an oncoming car. We can put the car's license plate number, make and model on the shirt.

UUUGH. Leftwich. I hope ben's shoulder is ok. We dont want Pats fans making t-shirts. Whatever will we do!? I guess we can make it a national headline instead of covering REAL news.

It is just how things are now.   People are trying to find ways to make money easy.  Exploiting someone's injury is now one of them.

Not surprising since you can sue for anything.  This all stemmed from a woman suing McDonald's over getting burnt by hot coffee.  That is where things started going down hill.   Just waiting for some NE fan to sue him for hurting their fragile little feelings over the shirt.  I guess it wouldn't fly since the NE fan wasn't established until 2001.  You just don't understand football yet.  Injuries happen.

I don't have a problem with Lampman making a few dollars.....my problem is the demand for such an item and the mentality of the sports fans who would buy the shirt. Lampman is exploiting a market that shouldn't exist.
