I really respect Ben Roethlisberger as a quarterback. I think he's tough. I like the way he moves around the pocket, not looking to run but rather doing it with his head up to make a throw. More quarterbacks need to do that.

He's a star now.

Having praised Roethlsiberger, it's time to rip him.

Please stop with all the drama, Ben.

The book on Roethlisberger is that he's a drama queen, and his recent revelation to Sports Illustrated writer Peter King that he played the Super Bowl with two broken ribs only intensifies his look-at-me style.

Why bother? What's the point? The game is over. All it does it put the spotlight back on Roethlisberger, with people saying how tough he must be. Somehow, I think Roethlisberger likes that.

The Steelers haven't confirmed the story and there are some Steelers players who think he's telling a tall tale.

If he did play with broken ribs, he's tough but why let it out? All it does is put the focus on him, and takes away from the team winning a Super Bowl.

Super Bowl star, drama queen.

They don't need to go together.

Quick hits

---Nice job by the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency last year. The two big signings were receiver Jerry Porter and cornerback Drayton Florence. They cut both of them Wednesday. Neither played very well, but it didn't help that the coaching staff thought both were problems inside the locker room. Those two landed $16.5 million in guaranteed money last year, which brings new meaning to taking the money and running. Porter had 11 catches -- $1 million a catch -- and Florence was nothing more than a nickel corner, and not very good at that.

---What do the Jets do at quarterback now that Brett Favre is gone? Decide if Kellen Clemens is the long-term answer or draft one. If they draft one, they need a veteran. How about Byron Leftwich? He would love the chance to start again.

---I keep hearing the Larry Johnson wants out of Kansas City. Who wants him? Is he worth anything? He's a crybaby who isn't nearly as good as he thinks. Johnson needs to shut up and play with the Chiefs. The same goes for Tony Gonzalez. You're at the tail end of your career, Tony. Live with it. You're not worth trading for either.

---In all the early draft talks I've had with scouts, the one name that consistently comes up getting a lot of praise is Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry. He might be the surest thing of all the players in the draft.

People don't give the Steelers credit for beating Seattle, because they DIDN'T beat Seattle.  The officials did.  You didn't see anything blatant due to the fact you are a Pittsburgh fan!  I am a FOOTBALL fan, so I see things the way they happened.  The Seahawks were the first team in Super Bowl history to win the time of possession battle, turnovers and yardage and LOSE!!!!!  Tells ya something........

"This guy is great... we all know it.  There is no need to take it to the next level AFTER the game is over and say, yeah I'm the S**T and I just did all that with a few broken ribs."

Are you freaking serious? I mean come on. Since when was it that Ben went around claiming that he was, as you call it, THE SHIT ? I never heard a thing about it. But it's not OK for QB's like Brady or Favre to say things like this right? Hell, what about Peyton Manning with his whole knee surgery halfway through the season? Don't you have an answer for that? Maybe its just me but I think I'm just sensing a bit of bitterness from the ass-beating that the Chargers got in the playoffs. I guess your one of those fans that believed your team was a team of "destiny" once they got lucky against the Colts. OR maybe its not that we beat the Chargers(twice) but maybe its that fact that they passed on Big Ben !!  And it was during media week that the reports of him having two broken ribs was out. Coach Tomlin just denied any reports of it. So everyone knew all along that there was something wrong. As for Prisco, you should do a helluva lot more reading of his columns becuz all year he was on Ben's ass until the game against the Raven when he took his team down the field on a 96 yd drive. Thats when he finally gave Ben praise.....It just amazes me how retarded some of you Characters are on here !!!

I still can't believe that people can't give Pittsburgh credit for beating Seattle.  I didn't see anything that was a blatant bad call in that game.  Pittsburgh won because the were better than Seattle.  Accept it and get used to the fact that Pittsburgh is the best franchise in the NFL.

Ben Roethlisberger is a good quarterback.  He does take a beating.  But he would not be a two-time Super Bowl champion if it weren't for the officiating in his first one versus the Seahawks, which was more than just suspect.  I am not a disgruntled Seattle fan, but a FAN of GOOD FOOTBALL.  As for the second S.B. win, while I did catch a lot of it, I am going by the reaction of the media that his second victory was tainted as well.

"The guy wouldn't start for most NFL teams."

Truly moronic.  Most every team in the league would gladly drop a #1 pick for him for the chance to start him for the next decade.

Who really cares what Bernie Rotten thinks? I'll take Big Ben and the Steelers for a few more Super Bowls, drama or not. Nice hit piece Prisco, now back to work.

"Besides, maybe Ben didnt want it out so the Cardinals would know and try to take a few extra shots at his ribs. Bottom line is the guy is a STUD. Plays with all his injuries becuz the guy is a leader and now one of the NFL's best QB's. Easily a top 3 QB behind Brady and Manning. Although I think I'd put him in front of Manning becuz he has more SB title then him"

Really? you are a steel head... Prisco NEVER said that Ben is a bad quarterback (he never hinted it). We all know he is a good quarterback but the real question is why on earth does Ben need to go out and say that he won the superbowl with a couple broken ribs? The season is over and done with. Last time I check the NFL had to tighten up the rules on reporting injuries before games so maybe just maybe if this is true the NFL should look into this to see if there was some sort of cover up (maybe the MLB players association or South Carolina police can do some more investigating)

This guy is great... we all know it.  There is no need to take it to the next level AFTER the game is over and say, yeah I'm the S**T and I just did all that with a few broken ribs.

You Steeler fans are quick to jump on Prisco when he gets on your boy.  If this was a one time claim on Rothlisberger's part, the criticism would be unwarranted.  However, Rothlisberger does have a history of claiming to have injuries that are not substantiated by the team.  It is on record that he has in the past claimed that he played with a broken finger, and broken toes.  Your former and beloved coach Cowher has even disputed these claims.  So who are you going to back up Steeler fans, Cowher or Rothlisberger?

Dead on. Not only is he an average QB, at best but he is certainly a drama queen. The guy wouldn't start for most NFL teams. He may be average in the Steelers system but the guy is an overrated whining, "look at me" baby looking for attention. What a disaster.

Yeah, it looks like someone was taking Intro to Logic and didn't get a very good grade. Glad I wasn't the only one who thought that. Time to brush up on your categorical syllogisms again.
