Cassel over Cutler?

Who the heck is making decisions in Denver?

We thought Mike Shanahan made some bad personnel decisions, but now we get a new regime signing a bunch of "slappys" as one scout told me and then there is word that the Broncos were interested in trading for Matt Cassel?

They were interested in swapping Jay Cutler for Cassel? Can that be serious? How stupid can new coach Josh McDaniels be? Just because a guy played well for you in New England doesn't mean he's better than the cannon-armed passer you have.

Cutler or Cassel? Please.

That's what happens when good football people don't run teams and too much power is given to coaches. McDaniels clearly doesn't know what he's doing if he thinks Cassel over Cutler is a good move.

Now we get word that Cutler is angry about it all. That can be repaired.

What can't be is the stupidity of the organization. If it keeps going like this, the Broncos are in big trouble.

Cassel over Cutler?

Thank God(!) we have Prisco saying what the rest of us are thinking and knowing for a fact that both McDaniels and Bowlen are going to read it.  Trading Cutler ranks right up there with Reeves attempts at getting rid of Elway.  You should pay attention to what happened to Reeves, McDaniels!  Just how many times does a quarterback with Elway's kind of ability come along?  Cutler is lightning in a bottle and to think that lightning could strike twice for the Broncos is not lost on their fans.  Get him a quality T.D.-like running back and a funtionable defense and Cutler will get us to the promised land many times in the years to come.  McDaniels, do your friggin' job and stop pissing off the franchise!  It's still about the Broncos fans, not you(!), and I can assure you that we'll be watching Cutler throwing 70 yards down the field in a Broncos uniform, long after you're gone.  You should apologize to Cutler and the fans sooner than later, because none of us believe your "We never wanted to trade Cutler" line of crap.  What an amateur, immature move from a guy that just got the job and hasn't won a single game as a head coach.  Man this pissed me off!

They can not be serious in this deal...Cassel hasnt done anything.  Are people thinking he is the next tom brady?  I dont even like brady but all he did when he came off the bench out of no where was win and play at a high level.  Cassel played really well for 3 games last season now he is being praised as the next big thing.  I dont like cutler either but he has at least proved himself as a quality qb in the league.

Cassel over Cutler?

I could not believe when I saw the rumor that Cutler was the source of trade discussions. This is absolute nonsense. This is exactly why I thought they needed to hire a GM from OUTSIDE the organization. These stupid moves were happening last year when these same guys now playing GM had their fingers in the pot. Now they are driving the bus and the stupid  moves continue. I will not be able to get passed it if they trade Cutler. Come on McDaniels. WAKE UP. The grass is not greener.

Wow, you are really getting on McDaniel for NOT making hte move.  You sound like they made the trade.  MAybe, just maybe, the Broncos wanteed no part of the deal and squashed it.  Why are you ripping them for a deal that they didn't make?
Because they were foolish enough to even consider it. If there was no truth to the story McDaniels should just come out and say there is no truth to this rumor and talk to Cutler and soothe his ego. You have to question the new denver staff. They have signed a bunch of uninspiring free agents. Buckhalter and JJ Arrington? Reid? I can understand the reasoning behind Gaffney and Dawkins at least. Gaffney knows the offense they will install and Dawkins even at 35 is still a beast (good move Philly! LOL) But everyone else won't see the 3rd year of their contract I bet.
Meanwhile they are switching to a 3-4 but the best 3-4 D lineman available (Canty) isn't being wooed? Ward as a RB should be considered because he can catch the ball and block. Hopefully they come to their senses and forget about the likes of JJ Arrington.

No way that was seriously considered by the Broncos...If there is any truth to that the Broncos are in for HUGE TROUBLE.

Lame brain idea.. Josh is over his head. What is next? Get rid of Champ? Get a grip before I lose faith in the Broncos. Culter looks like the best thing that happened to Denver in a while. What kind of message does that send to the future of the franchise? I was excited for the new season, but I will have to think that over now.

Wow, If Cutler got traded that would have been the biggest brain dead move of all time. Cassell is not Cutler and will never be. If Mcdaniels and the new GM even considered that move,Mcdaniels and Xander won't be around very long  and they shouldn't be if they can't figure out that Cutler is way better that Cassell.

What in the hell are my broncos thinking.  Wow.  If this is what we have to look forward to, then I need to find a new team for a while.  Get a grip Broncos and if possible, stop looking like you are lost.
