Ray Lewis is still a member of the Baltimore Ravens.

That's the way it should be.

It wouldn't have looked right to see him in another uniform. Did Johnny Unitas look good in a Chargers uniform? That's what Lewis would have been in another uniform.

Now he will retire playing only for the Ravens, which is the way it should be. Too many times players we identify with a team end up somewhere else.

That's not right. Now Lewis will be revered in Baltimore the rest of his life.

It's Johnny U, Cal Ripken and Ray Lewis.

That's worth a ton more than money. Plus, Lewis got a nice deal from the Ravens, three years for $20 million.

I like it that he's staying put. He should as well.

Ray Lewis not wearing purple wouldn't have been right. Lewis isn't the same player he was a few years back, and I don't think he'd be the same player somewhere else. The Ravens are perfect for him. He had to know that. When he didn't ger the play on the free-agent market he expected, he had to go back.

Ravens fans have to be thrilled.

Ray-Ray is staying where he belongs.

I agree, there is no other team that can value Ray like the Ravens, they need him and he needs them he could have got a little more money as a "thank you" but three more years is fine, he will mentor the young linebackers in that system and keep that defense as mean and hard hitting as they have been in the past, im very excited

Oh god, I feel sick.  A Jaguars fans who likes Ray Lewis.  No, all kidding aside, it is good to know "Ray Ray" will be a Raven for a few more years.  It might be real hard to hate Baltimore after he retires.  But, they're grooming Flacco to take his spot down there, so I'm sure I won't have any trouble.

Pete, I totally agree. I just wished my Jaguars felt the same way about Fred Taylor. I mean, he's only going to play another year or so anyways. I know he's got a couple years left in him, but yet my Jags kicked him to the curb...and who's there to pick him up? Arguably the smartest team in the whole freaking league, the Patriots! And to make matters worst, we play them this year in Foxboro...bummer. Kodos to Baltimore for doing the right thing. Ray Lewis is my favorite player outside of the Jaguars(...and Freddie T) because of the emotion and the intensity he brings to the game. What a player!
