I keep hearing and reading the same things as it relates to the Jay Cutler-Josh McDaniels feud in Denver. Most of if states that Cutler needs to quit being a baby and realize the NFL is a business.

Yes, he might be overreacting. And he deserves some ripping. But what's lost in this battle is that if the NFL is a business, which it is, the Broncos are considering some of the worst business I've seen.

How can they even consider trading a franchise quarterback who is 25 years old? Cutler's taking all the heat, but McDaniels is the one who should be.

He's the one who is in his first head job and he's considering making one of the dumbest decisions a coach can make. There are only so many good quarterbacks in this league and he's thinking about trading one away. Why is he getting a free pass here? He's the one who should be getting torched.

So both parties deserve some heat. But there's no doubt McDaniels is the one who deserves the most of it.

McDaniels is the idiot

Hey Prisco,

Cutler is not Brady or Manning (even those "untradable" quarterbacks have had to re negociate their salaries to keep their teams competitive, and will probably get traded or cut someday. Remember Jerry Rice?)

Cutler has not won anything. Nothin. Zero. Zip. He was the leader of a team that blew a 3 game lead at the end of last season and missed the playoffs. And please, done give BS on that all of it was the defense fault an all that. The truth of the matter is that a winner (such as Brady) finds a way to win. Cutler has not proven anything so he should be and will be subject to any trade talk until he has a SB ring or at least a conference championship in his resume.

And please, save for your wet panties the old "the guy has a rocket for an arm" motto that you constantly jot down in your articles. QB's aren't all about arm, they are so many intangibles that you have to look for in a QB that the arm ends up being almost meaningless, specially in today's game where you're not throwing down the field on every single down.

Cutler is a cry baby, Mc Daniels is his boss and he should understand that. Yes, I don't know what was Mc Daniels smoking when he discuss trading Cutler, but Cutler himself should stop being a prima donna, shut down, and work his ass of so that he can have a chance of being sucessful.

Sorry dude, but up until now, Cutler has being a loser and an histrionic cry baby.

Culter needs to stop crying and eat a candy bar. He's suppose to be a leader not a whiner. This guybetter shut up or he'll end up like Jeff George.

Ya Jay Cutlers feelings are going to be hurt with a trade talk. And yes McDaniels made his huge first head coaching job blunder. I don't think he really knows how good Cutler is.  McDaniels has most of the pieces in place now, with the draft yet to come.  He needs to implement his system, Jay needs to stop crying and brush it off like a man, they both need to kiss and make up, and the Broncos will be reigning champs again. We need a third super bowl trophy, NOT another Dan Reeves/John Elway feud. McDaniels is a head coach now, he needs to choose his words wisely, Jay is 25 now , time to grow up and take it to the next level. Lets just win some damn football games and start beating San Diego again.

Pete, when you say Denver is doing bad business perhaps McDaniels doesn't want a pouty little crybaby on his team.  To me, that's good business. Carrying on the way he is isn't doing any good for anyone (except sports journalists).

McDaniels is the idiot

If McDaniels is bringing over the same philosophy in New England, don't you think he would want players that would fit the system that is in New England?

Players that fit the system in New England are not your self-absorbed players in which it is all about them. They want players who will play within a mindset of team first. And act accordingly. Even Randy Moss had to adjust to that philosophy to play in New England, and has done well. Talent is not enough. New England has won under Bellicheck without the most talented team. How do you think they keep winning each year with having more injuries compared to other clubs? Cassell has proven that he fits within that philosophy and can be servicable. He did it behind an inferior offensive line than what the Broncos have.

All Cutler has done over the past two years in Denver as a starter was prove how much of a narcisist he is. There is nothing wrong with being brash, but he has constantly whinned enough to show that things have to be his way. And he has shown that he makes mistakes after being rattled. cutler has proven that he is not a team first player. Maybe Jake Plummer was a bigger head case, but he was also more of a team player than Cutler. And Elway has shown he would be ther even with the issues he had with Dan Reeves. And at that time Reeves had only been coaching 2 years before having Elway. And they clahed almost immediately. But Elway had class. Cutler has none.

It is all and good to be able to move the team down the field during the game. But when the game is on the line, he makes more mistakes then good plays, especially after being sacked a couple of times.

I am not saying that it would be wrong to trade Cutler for Cassell, but I can guarantee you that there would have been other holes filed by that trade. And McDaniels would have had a player that he knows and knows his system. You claim that they stepped up with winning teams, don't you think a quarterback should be able to produce better with a better line and better receivers like Cassell would have in Denver? And don't claim that he had better running backs in New England since the running backs in Denver have all been hurt this past year. New England had to get by with inferior running backs also. Their top two running backs went down with injuries last year.

Cassell would have a better opportunity to excel in Denver then he did in New England. Someone would really have to be ignorant to think otherwise.

McDaniels is the idiot

You are absolutely correct. This is exactly what I have been saying all along McDaniels is a fool. I mean Jay Cutler gave his all 2 years ago and it almost killed him Diabetes. This past season he would move the Broncos down the field and scored their fair share of points. It was the defense that killed the Broncos no lead was large enough.Cassel is no Jay Cutler plain and simple he is not a franchise type quarterback. McDaniels is already trying to use Mr.Bills secrecy and cloak and dagger tactics. All the fans of the Denver Broncos want is a little open conversation but no! Is he trying to be Al Davis jr. if so go to the Raiders. If Cutler was not any good why would there be interest with the Lions, Vikings, Red Skins and any other team you want to put here. I wished he would go back where he came from and we could start over.I would be more then happy to give Pat Bowlen a mulligan and we could all forget this mess. And yes trading Jay Cutler would not just be a bad business move. It is the dumbest thing, considering how hard it is to get a good quarterback but to have a franchise quarterback letting him go would be ludicrous. Just go ask the Miami Dolphins,or the Titains. Would the Colts or Giants give their quarterbacks up?

McDanials started this situation even considerating trading Jay Cutler.  When he got the call he should've laughed it off and got on the phone with Jay before the rumer leaked.  First time head coach mistake!  The players are not going to play for a coach untill he earns there respect.

Somewhere in his not yet proven mind of his, McDanials thinks Matt Cassell is a better fit in Denver.  Whatever offence Denver ends up running, McD must believe Cassell would take to the system quicker than Jay Cutler.  Cassell much like McDanials hasn't proven anything.  They both steped up and won with winning teams.

McD needs to step it up and take control of this team.

Chris Simms is not a starter.  Way to money put up for a young inexperienced player.  The signings on Defence seem to fit if Nolan is bringing in the 3-4.  The broncos got the vocal playmaker in Dawkins.  He will be a great addition.  On Draft day they can get a young corner and saftey for Champ Bailey, and Brian Dawkins to mentor.

No, Daniels deserved most of the scorn. But what's done is done, and he wasn't traded.

Who deserves the scorn now, and the blame if he ends up being traded, is Cutler, for stomping his foot and carrying on.
