What are the Vikings doing?

Five-game totals: Two touchdown passes, nine interceptions, no games with a passer rating over 61.4 and one game with a completion percentage over 60.

You want that guy?

I don't.

Add in the fact that he will turn 40 this October and it's a definite stay away. Those numbers belong to Brett Favre in his last five games of 2008 for the New York Jets.

Yet the Minnesota Vikings are reportedly going to meet with Favre to discuss him possibly signing on to be their quarterback. Wasn't Fran Tarkenton available?

Favre is done. He can't throw the ball down the field anymore. The gunslinger has no bullets left. He shoots blanks.

Will Favre ever go away?

What this looks like to me is a desperate attempt by a coach who will likely be out if he doesn't win. Brad Childress needs to make the playoffs, or he's done. So he might think Favre is a better option than Tarvaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels? I don't and that's despite thinking the other two aren't very good.

If the Vikings sign Favre, he'd be the third-best starting quarterback in the division behind Chicago's Jay Cutler and Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers.

At this time last year, many thought the Packers were nuts to go with Rodgers and let Favre go elsewhere. Ted Thompson was right. Favre is done.

He's also not a great teammate. He's aloof. He's distant. He doesn't hang with the guys. He didn't even dress with them in Green Bay at the end.

You want that, Brad?

This screams desperation.  I know Favre said he had a bad throwing shoulder late last year, but is that any better now? Those last five games are telling. The Jets also went 1-4 in them to miss out on the playoffs.

Packers fans will say they'll hate seeing him wearing purple. Don't. It gives your team a better chance to win the division.

Favre to Minnesota improves the playoff chances of the Bears and Packers, not the Vikings.

I agree.  I think Favre is washed up.  He had lightning in a bottle two years ago with the PAck.  What did he do in the two previous seasons and last season.  Not Much!  In fact, let him go to the Vikings.  I am a Bear fan anyway.  Let him destroy that team.  Good for the Bears and Pack.

What are the Vikings doing?

Dude, it's a blog, no place for a grammar lesson.  Back to the topic, does anyone have any concrete reason as to why the media so hates Favre?  Has he been a big pain in the @#$ to them all the years he's played?  Honestly, he doesn't deserve some of this crap he's getting.  So he wants to play, big deal.  A team still would have to sign him.  This is a two person dance, if no one wants him he won't play (Barry Bonds anyone) apparently the Vikes feel he has good value still, you can't go yelling at Favre cause he wants to play and someone believes he is good enough and is willing to let him do it.  Ridiculous.

lol. he was NOT the leading candidate.
not even close.
it's funny the BS people will make up to try and prove their point.
his shoulder is not better and the Jets were a better team than the Vikes.

What are the Vikings doing?

I couldn't agree more. Yeah the guy is old, so is Kurt Warner. If the vikings have the o-line needed to protect him (which I believe they do) they will go very deep in the playoffs if not to the superbowl. If Farve's arm is healthy they should be great! That's a big if, but according to articles the guy has been rehabbing and doing well. Let the other people think the bears and packers will be better, the vikings have always done better under the radar anyway.

No... Prisco doesn't think to himself... or rather think at all.

I agree and disagree... Brett Farve has 269 consecutive starts.  Other than tearing his BICEP last year he has never let those injuries affect him to such a degree that he cannot play the game at a high level.  Football is a violent sport, but its arguably the least violent on the QB position (with all the rules prohibiting them from being hit in certain areas or at certain times).  So yes I agree that he'll probably have a minor injury, but I disagree that whatever that injury is will keep him from being an effective starter.... Assuming he gets surgery on that arm this summer.

What are the Vikings doing?

I find "your" post to be most interesting.

It attempts to teach others the proper use of the two words "your", and "you're" which is nice, but at the same time you wrote 4 sentences without capitalizing the first word in each sentence.

So, should I write a post on proper sentence structure to help you?
