Five-game totals: Two touchdown passes, nine interceptions, no games with a passer rating over 61.4 and one game with a completion percentage over 60.

You want that guy?

I don't.

Add in the fact that he will turn 40 this October and it's a definite stay away. Those numbers belong to Brett Favre in his last five games of 2008 for the New York Jets.

Dreadful.

Yet the Minnesota Vikings are reportedly going to meet with Favre to discuss him possibly signing on to be their quarterback. Wasn't Fran Tarkenton available?

Favre is done. He can't throw the ball down the field anymore. The gunslinger has no bullets left. He shoots blanks.

Will Favre ever go away?

What this looks like to me is a desperate attempt by a coach who will likely be out if he doesn't win. Brad Childress needs to make the playoffs, or he's done. So he might think Favre is a better option than Tarvaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels? I don't and that's despite thinking the other two aren't very good.

If the Vikings sign Favre, he'd be the third-best starting quarterback in the division behind Chicago's Jay Cutler and Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers.

At this time last year, many thought the Packers were nuts to go with Rodgers and let Favre go elsewhere. Ted Thompson was right. Favre is done.

He's also not a great teammate. He's aloof. He's distant. He doesn't hang with the guys. He didn't even dress with them in Green Bay at the end.

You want that, Brad?

This screams desperation.  I know Favre said he had a bad throwing shoulder late last year, but is that any better now? Those last five games are telling. The Jets also went 1-4 in them to miss out on the playoffs.

Packers fans will say they'll hate seeing him wearing purple. Don't. It gives your team a better chance to win the division.

Favre to Minnesota improves the playoff chances of the Bears and Packers, not the Vikings.

What are the Vikings doing?

Only a total fool would not listen to a Hall of famer that wants with every fibre of his being to crush the Packers twice .Brad Childress has seen Favre up close and personal. The Vikings will ignore him at their peril. Brett may play for free just to get a shot at his old team mates.
He scared everyone in the AFC east last year. The Bears and Lions also do not wish to see him back again.Old and weak though he may be.
On a Monday night who would you like to send in , off the bench?

Favre, stay out of Denver!

There has been much debate in Broncos' country about the fate of the team with either Kyle Orton or Chris Simms at quarterback. I'd venture that the only thing unanimous for Broncos' fans these days is that we wouldn't want to see Brett Favre brought in.

What are the Vikings doing?

About a year ago I was being kicked around this broads for my unwaivering support for Brett Favre.  I defended him and believed in him.  He was my favorite player, etc.  I am starting to realize how wrong I was.  Favre is going to the Hall of Fame and he deserves to be there but his real attraction was he was a good guy who loved football, etc.  The past two years this image is pretty much gone.  I do not know what his motives are, it could be he still loves football and wants to play but it seems his real interest may be to stick it to the Packers.  I am no supporter of TT but I am starting to realize maybe he did do the right thing.  He (Favre) told the Jets he was retiring, he was done, then he may sign with the Vikings.  He said the same thing to the Packers before he got traded to the Jets.  I still respect what he has done in his career but I do not think I admire him much anymore.  I am beginning to believe those guys that blasted me last year were on the money and I was as stupid as they said I was.

It is a shame because he was fun to watch and seem to be different than other athletes in all the other sports.  I guess he had me fooled completely.  I thank him for what he did in Green Bay and all true Packer fans should, but I do not respect him all that much anymore.  I have no idea where his head is anymore.  It is all rather sad.  Please, Brett, stay retired, do not destroy your image anymore, and this from one of your biggest supporters.

What are the Vikings doing?

I'm hoping the Vikings are planning on signing a young rookie QB soon so maybe their intentions will be for Favre to mentor and not necessarily play for the Vikes. Who knows I do kind of agree with Pete on this one. Last year at this time leading all the way up to the start of the season there was not 1 day we didn't hear about Favre.

I personally am tired of all of the players who retire and then just a mere 2 months later UN-retire.

I hope for the NFL's sake and Minnesota fans sake that, that is Minnesota's intentions because next years NFL draft is going to be QB heavy. Time will tell.

What are the Vikings doing?

Prisco, you are still an idiot and I have no idea why CBS signs your paycheck.  His yearly stats were better than many QB's last year.  He took an awful team to the brink of the playoffs in his first year there.   He deserves to play with Minn if he wants to.  Guys like you and the rest of the GB fans should leave him alone.   Remember Gb you gave up on him and Rodgers is definitely not the answer.   Start Brohm he IS THE REAL DEAL!!!   Rodgers was a bad pick.   Brett please come back, whether its to Minn or someone else come back and stick it to these idiots!!!

What are the Vikings doing?

Favre is starting to remind me of Dennis Quaids character The Grey Ghost.

What are the Vikings doing?

One more thing, as a die hard vikings fan I know we need to fill the seats at the metrodome. Bringing in Favre not only will fill the seats but will give them national publicity and jeresy sales up the ying yang. This is the best thing Ziggy could do for the twin cities if he wants his fan base back and also a new stadium. Favre will get his way and will make everybody look stupid for telling him to stay retired, remember he is Brett Favre weather you like him or not he will go out a winner.

What are the Vikings doing?

So someone please explain to me again how he hasn't had the same arm for the past few years and should stay away from football?
