Seattle Seahawks general manager Tim Ruskell resigned Thursday when he saw the handwriting on the wall that he was going to get fired after the season.
The Seahawks got what they deserved by hiring Ruskell.
It should have been Ron Hill's job.
Hill, who had been the GM in Atlanta before the team brought in Rich McKay over him, interviewed for the Seattle position. When he got back from that trip, Hill thought he had a real chance to get the job. But McKay instead recommended Ruskell at the 11th hour, after Ruskell initially said he wasn't interested.
Ruskell interviewed and, thanks in large part to the McKay recommendation, which then held a lot of clout, Ruskell got the job.
Hill was later fired by the Falcons -- at McKay's request -- and has since worked in the league office.
Seattle blew it. Hill is a good football man. It was his job. The Seahawks got what they deserved.

McKay left the Bucs before Sapp left(YOU'RE WRONG THERE). Pretty sure the cap became messed because John Idzik messed some things up because Gruden demanded terrible aging players whom they couldnt pay now, so they paid later(WRONG AGAIN). Garner, Brown, the list goes on and on because they signed so many terrible players you cant even remember. Gruden pushed him out the door. You dont move into a building and tell the architect how to add on to his masterpiece. If you read the AJC, just not Terrence--- whom is banned from Falcons HQ--- you would realize Blank wanted the Vick contract, and it was a great deal until he was arrested for dogfighting, something no one saw coming. ALSO, IF YOU KNEW ANYTHING YOU WOULD KNOW HE IS THE ONE DOING CONTRACTS, SOMETHING DIMITROFF HAS NO HISTORY IN DOING(WRONG AGAIN). He ruined them? All he did was make a mistake in not doing his due diligence into Vicks past. Because everyone can agree that if that whole debacle had not happened, they would be the front runners in the NFC right now. Also, the new owners of the league, which make up a majority, realized McKay was a good ole boy and didnt want him, in line with the old ownership, to run the league bc they would be at a disadvantage. Also, isn't he still Co-Head of the league's competition Committee?
Ownedx2, you homer.
