Dansby money: Wow

Karlos Dansby is a good linebacker. He is not a great one.

But he got great-player money from the Miami Dolphins Friday night. The Dolphins gave him a five-year, $43-million contract with $22 million in guaranteed money, according to a league source.

That is crazy dough.

Dansby had 25 1/2 sacks and was only over 100 tackles twice in his six seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. He did have 10 interceptions, two for touchdowns, but the Cardinals viewed him as just a good player, not a sensational one.

He will play inside in Miami's 3-4 defense, taking over for Akin Ayodele, who the team let go Friday.

That's a pretty penny to pay for a 3-4 inside linebacker. I could see if he was on the outside, but in Miami it appears he will play on the inside.

The $22 million in guaranteed money might sound like a lot, but the word is that Dansby's representation was asking for $30 million in guaranteed money.

Hmmm trust Pete prisco's opinion about a linebacker or Bill Parcels? I am pretty sure Parcels watched more tape on him than Prisco did and has a much better eye for linebackers as well.

So what if he's a 3-4 inside linebacker? A good backer is a good backer, plain and simple. Are the Ravens sorry they paid Ray Lewis good money all these years? Did the Patriots ever consider replacing Tedi Bruschi with a cheap no-name? Seriously Prisco, stop forcing issues to fit your weak-ass theories: even a blog needs better material than this.

To be honest pi22over7 i think you need to get up out our blogs because the nonsense you keep saying is ridiculous. You don't see any of the Dolphin fans talking smack on your boards. You obviously are obsessed with the Dolphins because you are intimidated by us. WE BEAT YOU GUYS TWICE LAST YEAR AND YOU BETTER GET USED TO IT!!!!! I think you should change your ID to pushover

Yea I sure wish we had Tony Romo, so he could give us the illusion that we could win a super bowl every year.

Why even comment?  Your biased opinion on a good pickup doesn't matter.  I thought the pick up of Cromratie was great.  Did we overpay for Dansby?  Hell yes, but I don't really care what these owners pay because its not out of my pocket and they are all overpayed if you ask me.  But Dansby was a good move for the dolphins over the bums they had last year.  By the way, didn't we sweep you last year with those bums?....yea thought so.

Yeah T.O. would be just great for Chad Henne. Almost as great as he was for McNabb. Love how as soon as T.O. started complaining McNabb's career went downhill (obviously we can't blame him for the injuries but he bashes every QB he's around.) Romo is just lucky that he got out of Dallas before Owens got more frustrated when he did. The guy is a cancer. Draft a guy with some size or sign someone, or do both if they're going to give up on Ginn. Davone Bess and Camarillo are good No. 3/4 WRs but they're not starters (of course, Bess could well become another Wes Welker in the next couple years)

I am just hoping now that we have one ILB we can get Rolando McClain out of alabama to play the other inside spot.
