Willis agrees to extension

Posted on: May 4, 2010 2:27 pm

Patrick Willis of the San Francisco 49ers is arguably the best middle/inside linebacker in the NFL.

He's now also one of the richest.

Willis agreed to a five-year, $50-million contract extension Tuesday. Willis had two years left on his deal.

Willis went to the Pro Bowl in two of his first three seasons, making him one of the bright young stars of the game.

With Ray Lewis getting up in the years, Willis has taken over the title of the best inside/middle linebacker in the league.

Willis agrees to extension

Since the original post in question, I've seen maybe two or three equally respectable posts. Everyone else decided that it was well within the limits of proper conduct to post what they did, whether it be baseless attacks, opinons, or simple corrections of obvious typo's. Now, I hate careless typing more than the next, but come on... "s" is next to "w". Meanwhile, posters who do not know the difference between "r" and "are", as well as "u" and "you", among many others, are calling him out on his spelling! Jeez, I'm so glad that I don't have to deal with any of you people on a daily basis. Yeah, I said "you people". It's nice to be nice every once and a while...

Heck, even the administrator is getting his rocks off!

How many times are people gonna call someone the game's best middle linebacker? They said about Urlacher, Willis, even Zach Thomas at some point. Its flavor of the month.....until he steps away from football, Ray Lewis will be the football's greatest middle linebacker.

And this is the posting of an ignorant, uneducated indvidual who cannot even correctly spell the name of the linebacker that is supposedly "better". Wow, simply amazing. It's ironic that you're comfortable using the term "alas" when you are clearly not even proficient in the English language. On top of all this you're too bothered to comment - hey genius - you just commented. Again, wow - simply amazing

@Goldenpanther...ok first let me apologize if u r like 6 years old bc then u don't know any better. but if u are a teenager or older than u are a moron!!!! u say u could name 12 LBs as good as willis but then say u won't bc u don't have time...we all know u won't bc u can't!!! Willis is a machine and there are maybe, just maybe 3-5 middle LBs that are even in his class right now...and ray lewis ain't one of them anymore!!!

A dozen? And I guess you meant Ray Lewis.

While Patrick Willis has only been in the league three years, he's been to the Pro Bowl every year and been in the top two in the NFL in tackles every year including his monster rookie year when he had 174 tackles and 33 tackles more than guy in second place. He has also started every game in his three years with the 49ers. His team may not have the wins and he may not be boisterous like other players, but you gotta give the man some respect. There are very few on his level.

Yea even though i havent really seen him play a whole lot i agree... I'd say Demeco Ryans from Houston is at least on his level though and although hes not as good as those two Bradie James from Dallas is VERY underrated

name a dozen? yeah right. Willis has dominated since entering the league, leads the league in tackels and two pro bowls in his first three years along with a deffensive ROY and all-pro. Name one?

Willis is a tackle machine. But Urlacher was better in his prime.
