Willis agrees to extension

Patrick Willis of the San Francisco 49ers is arguably the best middle/inside linebacker in the NFL.

He's now also one of the richest.

Willis agreed to a five-year, $50-million contract extension Tuesday. Willis had two years left on his deal.

Willis went to the Pro Bowl in two of his first three seasons, making him one of the bright young stars of the game.

With Ray Lewis getting up in the years, Willis has taken over the title of the best inside/middle linebacker in the league.

Willis agrees to extension

I'm pretty sure he has gone 3 out of 3 years to the Pro Bowl Prisco.  Great move by the 49ers, as this will make it easier to sign Vernon Davis and Dashon Goldson to extensions in the long run.

Willis agrees to extension

This is merely the opinion of a writer who whould not a good linebacker if one fell on him...aside from Ray Lewin, I could name a dozen who are better or at least as good.

But alas, I won't because I don't have the time.  Nor do I care to debate the issue.
