Big Ben returns

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is free to return to football.

Let's hope he comes back a changed man. As part of the suspension given to Roethlisberger by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for violating the league's code of conduct rules, Roethlisberger had to take part in some behavioral evaluation and was forbidden from taking part in team activities.

Wonder if the evaluation got the jerk out of him?

Roethlisberger is not well liked by his teammates, the media and has acted at times as if he owns the world. That hasn't endeared him to many people.

He needs to be more humble. He needs to learn respect.

Just because you play in the NFL doesn't give you a right to treat people like garbage.

Don't even bring up how he allegedly treats women.

He needed a behavioral evaluation.

The jerk in him had to go.

We will soon find out if it has.

He's also trying to get his potential six-game suspension reduced. So you can bet he will be on his best behavior. The test will come after that.

Anybody can act a certain way if their job is on the line. It will be interesting to see if he truly changes.

If a motorcycle accident that nearly killed him didn't, it's hard to believe this will.

But you never know. Maybe maturity will be an issue.

Some of the biggest NFL jerks I've encountered changed some as they aged, realizing that it all wouldn't last forever.

We'll see about Roethlisberger.

One thing I know for sure: I'd love to see the behavior-evaluation reports. That would be good reading.

Big Ben returns

Prisco is such a terrible writer I often wonder how he still has a job with CBS. You say just because he plays in the NFL he doesn't have a right to treat people like garbage(which is true), but you media folk talk down on athletes like they're garbage. So maybe you should practice what you preach.

I'm not against the discipline the Big Ben is recieving but enough is enough. Stop passing judgement on him.

BTW Troy Polomalu is arguably one of the best safetys in the NFL.

Lions in '10!!! Lol

Big Ben returns

Jesus, it amazes me you still defend Ben's innocence after this has happened at least twice.  I am going to feel bad for you when he rapes another woman and then you are still refusing to just acknowledge that this guy is a sexual deviant rapist

Big Ben returns

Another Steelers' homer.  Ben deserves this bashing and a lot more.   Get used to it.  This is what happens when you rape multiple women.

Big Ben returns

hmmmmmm...... Brian Cushing used performance enhancing drugs.  Ben Roethlisberger RAPED MULTIPLE WOMEN.....  How dare you compare the two, you low-life piece of trash  You are what is wrong with this country, and a typical example of why it's not cool to hang out with Steelers' fans.  Huge homers.

Big Ben returns

notice only steeler fans defending him. Everyone who is unbiased realizes this guy is just an ass.right, cause only Steelers fans are biased right? Bengals, Browns, and Ravens fans are all 100% unbiased towards the franchise QB of a rival team...Did he do it? according to the investigation in Georgia no...of course NFL fans with no legal background know better...I'll be the first to say yes Ben Roethlisberger should be suspended, but really 6 games for being accused? if its knocked down to 4 games as expected then ok its about as close to fair as its going to get. That Dolphins player was arrested and charged with aggrevated assualt for beating his pregnant girlfriend and was on the practice field the following morning...Ben has yet to see the practice field...he was finished with the required exams prior to the last OTAs and was not allowed to practice...nobody else has a problem with that? Forget Brian Cushing, different offense and his punishment is an NFL policy, also his positive test i believe was in the offseason and had multiple tests during the season that were negative...Merling's thing is a legal matter so is much more relavant to Ben...Again, Ben was not arrested or charged and is not allowed to practice and has a 4-6 game suspension...Merling is arrested and charged and is on the field the following morning...will there be a suspension? im thinking that unless the Dolphins do it themselves he wont even miss a practice...Is Roethlisberger a jerk? idk, never met him...ive heard mixed reviews on him, but ill admit ive heard more bad than good...regardless im a fan because of what he does on the field...Last i checked a football team has 53 players and 1 doesnt make a team...

Big Ben returns

Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is free to return to football.

Let's hope he comes back a changed man.

Everything I read points to this, and I doubt you hope it comes true, because it gives you more ammo to rant on about Big Ben.
As part of the suspension given to Roethlisberger by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for violating the league's code of conduct rules, Roethlisberger had to take part in some behavioral evaluation and was forbidden from taking part in team activities.

This was first reported a month ago, yet you chose to republish it as if none of your readers are aware of the Roethlisberger situation.

Wonder if the evaluation got the jerk out of him?

I wonder if the Mail Correspondant writing classes you took were worth the money you wasted on them.

Roethlisberger is not well liked by his teammates, the media and has acted at times as if he owns the world. That hasn't endeared him to many people.

Roethlisberger is not liked by his teammates? Sure you keep thinking that and continue trying to target your 18-25 year old male audience of your convoluted theories.  Why did his teammates rush to the hospital after the motorcylce incident Pete.. (crickets)

He needs to be more humble. He needs to learn respect.

Coming from Pete Prisco, who 490.000 out of 500,000 CBS Sports members know that your writing skills are pretentious and judgemental and offer no thought-provoking statements.

Just because you play in the NFL doesn't give you a right to treat people like garbage.

Just because some fool at CBS calls you a head writer does not give you the right to publish garbage either.

Don't even bring up how he allegedly treats women.

And then we won't bring up the sucky suckfest of sucky reporting and writing that you use to suck the life out of this site with.

He needed a behavioral evaluation.

And you need to look in the mirror and realize that being a 5-6' man with ridiculously envious disdane of a man almost a foot taller and richer is nothing more than the mid-life stage of your pathetic non-athletic life.

The jerk in him had to go.

The attitiude needed toning, just like your editor needs glasses and a pink piece of paper.

We will soon find out if it has.

About that witch hunt you are on, in recent months other NFL players have done despicable things, yet you continue to ride his azz.

He's also trying to get his potential six-game suspension reduced. So you can bet he will be on his best behavior. The test will come after that.

Thank you Captain Obvious. Sure if you say so, it must be true! Give me one credible reason why he would not try and get his suspension reduced.

Anybody can act a certain way if their job is on the line. It will be interesting to see if he truly changes.

Not anybody, your wretched writing skills seem to keep you miraculously employed.

If a motorcycle accident that nearly killed him didn't, it's hard to believe this will.

He was not wearing a helmet and did not have a Motorcyle License but it does not give you the right to imply or infer that the accident was his fault. He was struck by a car who made a vehicular infraction, the bigger question is the cause of the accident was by Martha Fleishman who caused the crash.

But you never know. Maybe maturity will be an issue.

Hey put down those Tarot cards, "you never know", really, there is some jaw-dropping insight right there.

Some of the biggest NFL jerks I've encountered changed some as they aged, realizing that it all wouldn't last forever.

I think most jerks change with age, it's called mellowing out, not a new concept, and not news-worthy.

We'll see about Roethlisberger.

Really, holy cow a revalation,  "we'll see". Really now Pete, and if he turns his life around and never gets into trouble again will you get off his back, because I doubt it.

One thing I know for sure: I'd love to see the behavior-evaluation reports. That would be good reading.

Probably better reading than your craptacular columns.

Big Ben returns

You guys, enough is enough about BEN. I`m not defending the things he has done over the past few years. And i`m sure that if he screws up one more time while being in the NFL he`ll be gone for good. Just let the guy alone!!!!! I`m sure just about everyone of us on here has had some type of a problem in their life. Just give the guy a chance to come clean. How the hell can the guy get his life together if he`s reminded about it every minute of every day. Give Ben a break!!!!!
NOTE: How in the world can Prisco say that Polamalu is overrated. Is this guy crazy! Sure he`s been hurt and out of games over the passed few years. But come on. Maybe this is the way that he gets people to read his threads. Buy not knowing what he`s talking about!!!!!
