Luck should go

Posted on: January 6, 2011 3:00 pm

Andrew Luck might be a smart student at Stanford, but when it comes to life decisions he is a fool.

What could possibly make him go back to Stanford? He will be the top pick in the April Draft if he were to come out. But Luck said Thursday he would return to Stanford for his redshirt-junior season.

He wants to get his degree.

Hey, lots of unemployed graduates have degrees that mean nothing now. Just look around.  You have a chance to make millions. Why would you risk injury to earn a few more credits toward a degree? You can always go back and get that paper.

College life is fun, but there isn't much more fun than being a millionaire, bachelor quarterback I imagine.

Jake Locker made the decision to go back to Washington for his senior season last year and it probably cost him millions.

There is no degree that can make up that money. OK, so maybe a few. Not many.

Luck has nowhere to go but down. Plus, there could be a rookie wage scale next season.

Way back in October, a high-profile agent insisted to me that Luck would stay in school. I told him was nuts.

I guess I was the nutty one.

Or is it Luck who is truly the nut here?

Luck should go

i can't believe i just wasted 30 seconds of my life reading this garbage. could prisco be any more idiotic, short sighted, and shallow? sounds to me like luck has very respectable priorities in his life and has made a decision that will make him happy.

Luck should go

Obviously Prisco did not got to Stanford, nor is he as smart and privileged as Luck to look at the glass from as many perspectives as Luck has. For that matter, Prisco never has had to make a decision of this magnitude as a teenager and will never understand what all went into Luck's decision making. I, being a Cardinal and being very biased, am very pleased with Luck's decision. Though I wouldn't have begrudged him an early exit to the NFL. I also think his decision to stay at Stanford has a lot to do with a time honored tradition that most have either forgotten or thrown by the wayside. He/she who finishes what he/she started is known all around as reliable and dependable. What more would you want in a star quarterback. As to the perils of losing out on millions, seriously?! He'll make more money after his career as a player in the NFL, regardless of how long/short it is (Brett Favre excluded) in the other roles/jobs he'll take after playing. Don't believe me, ask all of those analysts, executives, and owners that were former players. Oh well, can't tell people to use common sense, if they never learned it.

Luck should go

Seriously have to be the luckiest employed man in this country. To state one is a fool for passing on the pot of gold for a Stanford education and gaining one more year of life experience is idiotic at best. There may be a lockout in the NFL next year which could affect the way Luck's cards played out. Perhaps you could learn a valuable lesson from this kid Prisco, follow your heart and complete the goals I am sure he made when committing to Stanford.

Luck shouldn't go

No, Prisco, you're the nut. Andrew Luck should be commended, not ripped. Ever think that some things might be more important to him than money?

I guess Peyton Manning and Tim Tebow were nuts, too.

Prisco, just shut the F up!!  You already proved that you're incompetent when making "Prisco's Grades."

Luck should go

I suppose Prisco thinks Pat Tillman was a "nut," too.

Maybe, just maybe, Andrew Luck doesn't care about becoming an NFL player. Maybe his priorities are elsewhere. Maybe Luck wishes to do something meaningful with his life instead of playing a simple, dumb game fraught with future health problems.Maybe he wants to be able to get out of bed in the morning when he's 50 without help from a nurse's aide.

Maybe he just wants to finish what he started - getting a sheepskin.

Luck should go

When luck sign that letter of intent, he was making a commentment to the university... for 4 years. And yes prisco is correctwhen he proclaimed he was the "nutty" one. But, then again maybe "nutty" isn`t the right word... idiot sounds closer to being the right word.

Luck should go

In the wake of the scandals resonating through the college game, can a man of your stature and influence still be arguing so recklessly in favour of money over education?  EEK!
