Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow vs. Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder -- Even though they won't be on the field at the same time, this is a battle to watch. These two young quarterbacks went against each other a lot in college, Tebow at Florida, Ponder at FSU. Tebow has received a ton of hype, so you know Ponder wants to show him who the better quarterback is in this game.

Texans outside linebacker Connor Barwin vs. Falcons right tackle Tyson Clabo -- Barwin is coming off a four-sack game against the Jaguars, and he spent the day in the backfield. He is a relentless player who will battle all day. In Clabo, he will find a guy just as intense. Clabo is considered one of the tougher tackles in the league. He did a nice job on Brian Robison last week. This will be intense.

Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks vs. Packers cornerback Tramon Willams  -- Williams limited Calvin Johnson to four catches last week, proving he is back from a shoulder injury that bothered him early this season. Nicks is the Giants' big-play threat, so look for Williams to spend the day on him in man coverage.

Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller vs. Vikings tackle Phil Loadholdt and Charley Johnson  -- Miller has emerged as an explosive edge rusher in his rookie season. He's also good against the run. He moves around in terms of where he lines up, so the two Vikings tackles have to play well to keep him off Ponder.

Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins vs. Steelers inside players -- Atkins has been playing at a Pro Bowl level and has dominated some good inside players. The Steelers need to get good games from right guard Ramon Foster to handle Atkins.

Falcons defensive end John Abraham vs. Texans left tackle Duane Brown -- Brown has struggled at times with good pass rushers, although he has been better this season. Abraham can be a tough assignment with his speed off the edge. With T.J. Yates starting, Brown has to win to keep the rookie clean.

Lions defensive end Cliff Avril vs. Saints right tackle Zach Strief -- Avril had a good game against Bryan Bulaga last week. Bulaga came in not having giving up a sack, and Avril got one. Strief isn't as good as Bulaga, but he played well against the Giants pass rushers last week. It's tough to get to Drew Brees since he get the ball out, but Avril has to influence him some to slow him down.

Bengals receiver A.J. Green vs. Steelers corner Ike Taylor  -- Taylor has done a good job on some receivers in man coverage this season. Green hurt his leg in the first meeting after catching a touchdown pass and wasn't as effective as he could have been. This will be a tougher challenge for Taylor.

Browns left tackle Joe Thomas vs. Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs --Thomas is considered one of the better tackles in the league. He is good in pass protection. Suggs is one of the better pass rushers, but sometimes can disappear in lesser games. It will be interesting to see how motivated he is here after showing up big against the 49ers.

Chiefs receiver Dwayne Bowe vs. Bears cornerback Charles Tillman -- Bowe got ripped for short-arming a late throw in the Chiefs loss to the Steelers, and rightfully so. But he is still the Chiefs top target. Tillman is the Bears best cover player and has had some really good games. I expect to see him on Bowe some in man coverage, even if the Bears do play a lot of Cover-2 zone.

Week 13 Matchups to watch: Tebow vs. Ponder

Wow, Paulmn73, you must have ESP n ...  you called it, but what a game...  Now you can see why between Tebow and Harvin, the Gators deserved the National Championship....  of course there were some Great Defensive players too...  teamwork baby!

Week 13 Matchups to watch: Tebow vs. Ponder

Ponder has more talent, and has shed some of the criticism as a bust.  Tebow is a winner and this should be a decent game, missing AP vs Miller is a bummer.  What will really hurt the Vikings is their secondary, Girffin wouldn't even be playing if Cook was healthy.  The Vikes are missing 3 out of their 4 starters in the secondary.  If Tebow can't throw for 200 yards today, he might never do it. That's how bad the Vikings secondary is.  Denver wins this game on a FG.

Week 13 Matchups to watch: Tebow vs. Ponder

SuperBronco, I have watched this kid since he was in High school, DON'T BELIEVE what people are saying about his accuracy. If you notice when he does throw, he throws it to where only his wr can get it. That's the trick! No interceptions. He is accurate, just figure out how to get wideouts open and he will hit them.  Early in his tenure at Denver, he may not have looked as good because he is getting used to the speed of the game.  How many rookie QB's are doing better than he is? NONE! HE is the only one with the lowest number of int's per quantity of throws. The most TD's per throws...IF YOU DON'T WANT HIM, MY JAGS WOULD LOVE TO HAVE HIM! Now that we got rid of the coach!

If you doubt me, check out his record at U of Florida, football stats.  And that was against the best that college had to offer!

Week 13 Matchups to watch: Tebow vs. Ponder

Von Miller hasn't engineered 4th Quarter comebacks... the defensive units have to play as a team more than offensive units (maintaining zones, rushing schemes vs pass rushing schemes and linebacker integrity). The offense goes where the QB directs it (he calls audibles and nobody gets the ball unless he gives it to them). Tebow provides something that NFL teams are not used to... the threat of a QB/RB position. He may not be a good passer, but his RB ability keeps defenses honest. I'm a Dallas fan, but I have to say Tebow is exciting to watch! Go Tebow (unless he plays Dallas)! :)

Week 13 Matchups to watch: Tebow vs. Ponder

If the Broncos win this week, there will be two reasons.  The most important one being that Adrian Peterson is out, so we're just lucky not to have to try and slow down the leagues best running back.  The second reason, Tim Tebow?  Nope, not at all, he's actually a non factor.  The second reason is because of Von Miller's injury.  If his hand hinders him to actually make the tackles we need him to make, we're in for a long day.  I can certainly see us pulling this one off, but it's not going to be easy.  And the worst thing is, the Vikings aren't any good, but we'll still have a hard time.  If we keep winning with Tebow at quarterback, I'm scared we're going to keep him in at QB when he's got no business there!

Week 13 Matchups to watch: Tebow vs. Ponder

Number 78 has a good point. Whichever QB get's hit the most will lose.  Prisco is one of the consistent NAYSAYERS on TT though. He doesn't like all the hype he has had ever since he was in high school, much less in college. He doesn't like spread option QB's, although he does seem to like Cam Newton.  But I will tell you this much, there is a reason why Cam Newton left Florida other than the stolen laptop deal... He knew he wasn't going to unseat TT from the starting spot. I will give him credit though, he is good also.  He just needs an O line.  Newsflash, Denver's O-line is pretty darn good!  So I hope TT goes on to prove him (Prisco) wrong.

Week 13 Matchups to watch: Tebow vs. Ponder

Don’t you think that 25+ pass game is going to happen for Tebow?

Game plans are built on deception. This might be the perfect game for that change. Roll-out after the option read and hit the opposite side TE rolling with the QB.

10 to 15 yard pops after the safety and CB’s commit. Fells only has to beat his coverage man.
Pull straight back from the option read for quick hits up the middle.

Seems like this would be the game. If they pull it off and win…. NE must prepare for the pass next week.We know Denver will be running as they don’t want Brady with the ball… you sure like to make the other team have a little doubt.

It would be nice to see Tim have a chance at a good high percentage passing game for a week. He has had a few weeks to learn. The receivers now work exclusively with him. Might not be as bad as we think. It was ugly early.... but experience can change results.

Go Broncos! Your winning as a team. All areas have improved. Remember all the great offensive stats from last year? All the horrible defensive stats? Many of the same players are on each of these units. Keep playing hard and support each other.

As for who is the better QB in 2015? Who cares?
If Tebows team wins this game and a few more (Denver beat: Cincinnati and the NYJ -the Tennessee loss could hurt) Denver plays in the playoffs.

Ponder? Is already waiting for next year.......

Week 13 Matchups to watch: Tebow vs. Ponder

He may not pass a lot but when he does his completions are important and right on the money.

You mean both of them?

Week 13 Matchups to watch: Tebow vs. Ponder

Yeah apparently you haven't watched him and are probably just repeating what you hear from the naysayers. Can't form your own opinion. He will show the Vikes on Sunday. He may not pass a lot but when he does his completions are important and right on the money. Just watch the highlights of Tebow's passing. Laughing
