Giants save season

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Season on the line, down five late, the New York Giants looked done against the Dallas Cowboys.

Fifty-eight yards stood between then and their season essentially being over.

Then Eli Manning did what he's become known for, even if he doesn't get credit for it: He was clutch in the end.

Manning drove the Giants 58 yards to the game-winning touchdown, that coming on a 1-yard run by Brandon Jacobs in the final minute and then Giants held on with a blocked field goal with 1 second left from 47 yards out to beat the Cowboys 37-34.

The victory gives the Giants a 7-6 record and puts them ahead of the Cowboys in the NFC East, based on them having the same record but the Giants winning Sunday night.

The two teams meet again in the final week of the season, but, for now, it's the Giants on top of the NFC East.

Couldn't agree more about the quality of receivers. Damn, Eli throws a loose spiral but it always finds a home. Pierre-Paul is the MVP for this game (America's Bandwagon would have scored 80 without him) but yes, Manning is now a top six QB. The other five are his brother, Brady, Roth, Brees and Rodgers.

This game ought to close the debate on Eli. He is stellar. Beat Brady in NE, went shot-for-shot with Rodgers and now pulls off this unbelievable comeback. Near-All Stars like Kevin Boss and steve Smith leave the Jints and become nonfactors with other QBs throwing to them, while Cruz and Ballard take their place without the Giants' passing game missing a beat. The Giants without Eli would be about where the Colts are without Peyton. Case closed.

12 point lead...you have the ball...5 minutes left...your at home...playing your biggest rival...division lead/potentially division title on the line...............................

.....................you lose. Gutless wanna be paper tiger of a team. Z E R O heart. After the Jets, Lions, Cardinals and finally this debacle i'm done with you. See you clowns for next years disappointments. I'm sure it will start at the draft.
