3 reaZons why the Jason Kidd trade is just dumb.

Jason Kidd is a great Point Guard, don't get me wrong but look at what the Mavericks gave up to acquire him. Here are three reasons why this trade was not worth it.

Reason 1: Jason Kidd is nearing the end of his career
-Jason Kidd is 34 and will be 35 come playoff time. That's not old in real years, but for a basketball player that means he's gone through a lot of wear and tear over the years. At this age if he were to go down to a serious injury his career could be over for good.

Reason 2: They probably won't win a championship with Kidd anyways
-If you really think about it, Kidd was in New Jersey and they were going no where. What makes you think that just because he is going to Dallas makes them any better off. Sure he puts up numbers, but numbers don't necessarily win championships. Look at Steve Nash, he has tons of assists all the time but when was the last championship you saw him win? I'm not saying he can't help them win but I just think it's unlikely

Reason 3: The Mavericks simply gave up too much
-Two first round picks and the future in Devin Harris, woah stop right there. That's more than they should have given up anyways. But they didn't stop right there. They also gave up some key role players in Jerry Stackhouse and DeSagana Diop. I don't know if Mark Cuban just felt too pressured with the Lakers and Suns pulling the trigger on big deals but Mark you gotta keep some of your team.

This concludes 3reaZons for now.

Jason Kidd doesn't make enough plays!

Well as of 5:35 PM on February 19, 2008, Mark Cuban has told ESPN that the deal is done for Kidd.

Now on to your post, first off I didn't realize Jason Kidd was that old I thought he was 31 or 32 at most, I thought this trade was a good idea. But now I know that he's 34/35, and coupled with the fact the Mav's gave up way too much for him, makes this a bad trade, but not as nearly a bad trade as the Shaq/Marion deal, the Suns did. Although seeing as Dirk Nowitzki(sp?) can't carry a game in the playoffs by himself it does strengthen the fact they need a play-maker to help Dirk out. But why Jason Kidd? If you want a play-maker, then why don't you go after "Mr. Makes Plays," himself, none other than the man, the enigmatic machine, the god, and the one who didn't puke in the huddle, Mr. Terrell Owens of the Dallas Cowboys. I mean if you want a play-maker then you go after TO, did you see him in the celebrity basketball game during All-Star weekend? He was balling!!! Why was he so balling!?! Because he doesn't puke in huddles, he makes plays baby!

A-mike out.

I don't really see a problem with the trade. The two picks are alot. Harris has to go, you're getting Kidd. And stack house is coming back. The problem is that this still only makes you the fourth best team in the West having to open with Denver.

The problem with Dallas is again "Mr softie playing the middle." HE'S A SEVEN FOOT SMALL FORWARD. And now you have to deal with Duncan and Shaq. Don't forget Kobe now has help. What a deal that was.

Very good point, I think it'll be good in the end though. Maybe not in the long run. But I believe they will win it all this year!
