When the NFL board here at CBS becomes whimsical!

I love all the creative posts on the NFL board lately, but I find myself unable to respond to any of them. I know there's little to nothing to post about concerning the league right now. But I really miss posting there. I wonder how many others here are having similar difficulties now that football season has come to a close.

I love football and hope others will try to join me to generate interest in football content on the NFL board. I know it's very difficult right now. How can we make it happen?

When the NFL board here at CBS becomes whimsical!

Excellent comments all!  Thanks for stopping by to make them.

I really wish I had enough knowledge and information to intelligently post about the top college players to enter the league this year, which team will be likely drafting for what positions, and for who most likely, what teams are likely to trade draft positions and why, who will likely be traded in the off season, and subjects like that.  That to me would make this part of the NFL year more interesting.

But I agree with your comments.  Thanks, again!

How about a year long tribute to the 1968 NY JETS, without them we'd all be watching hockey-aloha

Well shoot WU, based on how bad the Shocks have played this year, we should be all over any other forum other than College BB.

Yer right though - it's tough to get excited about the NFL unless you are a Giants fan, or a Pats hater right now.  The combine doesn't interest me, but this year's draft is infinitely exciting, if for no other reason that the Chiefs have 10 picks.  Hope they get at least one of em right.  :)

I'm gearing up for baseball, and the hopeful return of the Royals to a .500 club, it will happen soon.

This time of the year bites, unless you are an NBA fan (of which I'm really not), or your college BB team has a shot at the dance (which the Shocks don't, and it's looking more and more like the Florida Gators will miss it as well).

Peace

When the NFL board here at CBS becomes whimsical!

WUsTheman....

I hear you bro! It is pretty quiet for the most part. I spend about equal, or more time on the NBA General board, and let me tell you .... Even with football over for now, there is still more activity on the NFL General board by far. I stay in the General boards usually so that I can attempt to get into unbiased debates (for the most part).

Good news is that the combine and then the draft, is just around the corner, and then everyone will slowly make it back as they get excited about hope of a new winning season for their teams.

Go Steelers! / Lakers!!

Well WU - It seems that the time between the SB and the combine, there just isn't anything to talk about that gets the blood pumping. The suggestion to look back into the history of the NFL is a good one. I know it's been done before and will be again but lacking something better - why not?

I was reading an older book today about the Top 100 QB's in the history of the NFL. The book was published in 1987. Anyone wanna guess who was Numero Uno?

Just for chuckles, Elway was rated No. 55 and Petton Manning and Tom Brady didn't even get mentiones. I wonder why? (grinning)

BTW - Johnny U. was No. 1.

To me the best way is using your teams message boards.  General postings are likely hit or miss.  I'm trying to stay posting on a few blogs, like yours. Obviously, reciprocity is encouraged.

Hey Badger and all!!  Thanks for stopping by.

I love the NFL Board, and it has many great contributors.  I agree, what is there to talk about?  The Chiefs are in such a mess, I have no clue where to start.  Maybe start with the QB and work our way down.  Even Larry Johnson was a fiasco last year, after we traded most of our team away.

Maybe we can come up with something.  I'll sure be working on it.  My major point...it's a sure sign of spring coming when the NFL board goes whimsical.  And I understand why it does.

Again, thanks for coming over.

WUsTheMan, I'm not sure it can be stopped or even slowed down. It's the same on the college basketball board and other forums here at cbs sportsline. I think some people just prefer to talk about nonsense instead of sports - regardless of whether it's pre-season, regular season, post-season or off season.

Apart from Patriot bashing and spygate there seems little else right now. I am surprised more people have not posted more things about their teams free agent and draft needs..maybe you should do one for the Chiefs!!!
