I spoke to a special teams coach Wednesday who said he wasn't surprised by what happened in New York last weekend because he'd seen it before. Only it wasn't in New York, and it wasn't the Jets. It was New England.

"I couldn't help but notice it," he said. "There were seven or eight guys lined up on the sidelines. You noticed it because it was so regimented, and there is nothing regimented about the sidelines. It's usually chaotic there. But I noticed this right away."

His comments  underscore what Jets' special teams' coach Mike Westhoff said earlier Wednesday, with Westoff adding that "several" teams practice it. The assistant I spoke to said the only club he noticed doing it was the Patriots, but he said he never saw players trip anyone. He saw them line up as a sideline wall when the opposing team went into punt formation.

"Something like this is awful," he said. "I can't believe somebody endorses that. They have absolutely no respect for the game."

The NFL has said it will look into the matter and is "reviewing and clarifying sideline protocols" with its 32 teams at this week's league meetings in Ft. Worth. It also said it would follow with a memo to teams later this week,

Yes of course it's all the Pats fault right??? Westoff is a Jerk Off! The Jets organization can't get past the fact that Belichick went to Pats and resigned as the "HC of the NYJ". Woody Johnson has a woody for all things Pats and it trickles down to everyone in that organization. It's great to watch these "pretenders" fall apart as the season continues. Good Luck Jets , you'll need it this week..
That being said, most of the moronic statements on here as usual are coming from Steeler fans. Another fan base that has Patriots derrangement syndrome. It's a shame cause I really respect the Steelers, but I could care less about their fans.

I think the problem with Goodell is much worse than that.  During his tenure, the Jets organization and Jets players have been allowed to get away with murder.

In light of the fact that he is a former employee of the organiztion and here in NY he is know to actively cheer for NY teams.

His bias is all too obvious.  He, quite clearly, cannot maintain his objectivity.

His rulings are wildly inconsistent and shows his NY bias.

He is undermining the integrity of the game and needs to go.

It has reared it's ugly head amongst former organizational products such as Mangini, and McDaniels here of late and to say that it has never happened within this organization is simply being naive.

How has Mangini and reared its ugly head, things Happened under McDaniels but unless I was under a rock, mangini did nothing but become a Rat back preseason 07, and before you keep spuing out nonsense, did you know that they can tape the sidelines from up near press box in designated Filming areas but I guess with todays technology they cant zoom in on anything. The Patriots got in trouble for taping on the sidelines. Its something coaches Like Jim Johnson and others have admitted doing and saying is common practice in the NFL and that is why you do not hear ex coaches, analysts, or Players bringing it up anymore, only sore fans. Spygate was the most over blown story ever. The Pats just got caught at a bad time when Goodell was deciding to let world know he was in charge and that was 1 of the years his Power Trip with all the suspensions for conduct were going on.

To be fair....Isn't it just as much garbage when Red Sox fans whine about the Yanks out purchasing everyone, then turnaround and sign Crawford and Gonzalez?????

You do realiz you just chit out your mouth because that is a load of crap and Makes no sense. But since you say, take a look at Red SOx Payroll Last year and there Pay Roll this Year.

SUBSTANTIALLY DOWN,

-  8 MiLL Bill Hall FA
-  9 Mill Lugo off the Books
-  8 Mill Vmart FA
- 12 Mill Mike Lowell Retired
- 9 Mill Beltre FA
- 3 Million Hermida FA
thats 49 Million off last years, you tell me if the sox are doing things wrong in the front office. Theo is looking perfect making it appear as if the Red Sox are going all in now in order to get those season ticket sales done.

Crawfords Salary for 2011 - 14 Million A-gon 6.5 Million - Red SOx have Ortiz/JD Drew/ Scutaro/ Papelbon all coming off the year after when Adrain GOn. salary will go up with extension.

Make sense next time because the sox - cut salary from last year and the yankees without adding anyone else will still be more 50 Million ahead of Boston in Salary but not that I care because if they could afford spend 100 more they should I just hate when ignorant fans make ignorant comments.

 my numbers come from here

Message to Pats Fans..

First and foremost,

I will be the first to admit that I despise all New England sports teams and always have, however I do think that accusing the patriots in no way shape or form has anything to do with the actions of Sal Alosi. I do believe that Bob Craft qualifies as one of the most professional executives in all of sports and there are major pluses to the way he runs his organization, but what bothers me a little is how Pats fans are acting as if your head coach is somehow void of dispicable behavior and that he has never gone out of his way to get around the rules and adhere to a code of professionalism like his boss.

To say that the Pats have always been a model franchise when it comes to adhering to the rules while under Bellichek's leadership is simply asinine and downright irresponsibly ridiculous....Be Honest with yourselves and put away the bias for a change.

Should the Patriots always face accusations year in and year out?????  NO.........But let's not get carried away with this idea that they have never bent or broken the rules.....It has reared it's ugly head amongst former organizational products such as Mangini, and McDaniels here of late and to say that it has never happened within this organization is simply being naive.

Also....before you guys start going on the defensive and firing back.....I think I have been fair in that I have given the pats as much credit and have defended them in this post as I have in criticizing them.

and no....I am not an Arizona "CARDINAL4LYFE"....I am a ST.LOUIS CARDINAL for life...(Second most successful franchise in baseball history and Greatest Baseball City....PERIOD!!!!!)

The Pats are occaisionally at the top but normally thier sales are below the SDteelers."

The fact is the Patriots are in the top 5 of all the Harris Pollsn since 2005 as americas favorite team each year being anywhere from 2 to 5 and the cowboys always #1. I doont care what the steelers were but all I know is that the years they were high were the SB years, Pats have not won SB since 2004 yet there still in top 5, the only reason it feels like everyone hates the Pats is because Steeler fans are the haters, just admit it. Its fine you dont have to hide behind a few compliments about Brady, (basically you had too because he kicked your teams Azz) Steeler fans hate how the Patriots have there numnber and like to make themsleves feel better by saying the Pats cheat.

The best part about all this is the Patriots are in a rebuilding or transition year and are far and away the best team in the NFL, I cant wait to just rub it in over the next few years as Brady racks up #4 & #5 & maybe #6 who knows hen has a shotn at #7.

Patriot Fans just be happy they we or Pats-  have 2 first round picks and ................Carolinas 2nd round pick, which usually is 1st round talent especially in what is suppose to be a deep draft. They also have another 2nd pick and 2 3rds. so they are going to be stacked for years to come.
