Cassel's day in sun will come

I'm not real pleased about the snub of Matt Cassel, either, but look at it this way, Kansas City fans: The guy will go to Hawaii even though he wasn't voted to the team

And how do I know? Because Tom Brady is one of the three AFC quarterbacks, and tell me the last time he played in a Pro Bowl. He almost always is chosen and almost always finds an excuse not to go. Guaranteed, he doesn't make it. And I bet Philip Rivers won't, either. Nevertheless, the sure money is on Brady bowing out, especially if the Patriots are in the Super Bowl.

Yes, Cassel deserves to go. Heck, the guy has Kansas City in the playoffs, is 10-4 as a starter and has 23 touchdowns and just two interceptions over his last 10 games. But whom was he going to displace? Brady? Rivers? Peyton Manning? One AFC quarterback was going to get shafted, and that quarterback was Cassel.

But that's the bad news. The good is that this will all work out in the end. Trust me. So don't get too bent out of shape about Cassel not being in Hawaii ... because he will be. Just wait.

Cassel's day in sun will come

I doubt Cassell will ever be voted to the pro bowl. First reason: He's not that good, the chiefs record is not an indication of his play at QB, it's a measure of their running game and defense. Second reason: He'll never be better than Rivers, Brady, or Manning so he'll have to wait until one of them retires to get his shot.

Cassel's day in sun will come

"The only reason Charles hasn't been seen as such until recently was the fact that the Chiefs had to pass because they fell behind so far so quick."
Here we have is a Seahawk fan that doesn't know what he is talking about. I will give some numbers on the last 5 games that Matt Cassell has played in. I will give numbers on the Chiefs offense and give halftime scores. ("fell behind so far so quick")
Week 11 @ Arizona..Chiefs led at halftime 14-3/ won 31-13
ru att- 29 (159 yds)
pa att-24 (193 yds)
Week 12 @ Seattle..Chiefs led at halftime 21-10/ won 42-24
ru att- 48 (270 yds)
pa att-32 (233 yds)
Week 13 vs Denver..Chiefs led at halftime 10-3/ won 10-6
ru att- 39 (185 yds)
pa att-31 (196 yds)
Week 15 @ St Louis..Chiefs led at halftime 14-6/ won 27-13
ru att- 42 (210 yds)
pa att-29 (184 yds)
Week 16 vs Tennessee  Chiefs led at halftime 31-7/ won 34-14
ru att- 42 (150 yds)
pa att-34 (314 yds)
The Chiefs in these 5 games averaged 30 pass attempts and 40 rushing attempts per game. Charles averaged 16 rushing attempts while splitting duties with Thomas Jones. He also has receptions in these games. Don't talk about the Chiefs when you don't know what you're talking about. The Chiefs mix the plays up and teams know this. They are aware of the passing game.
Final note on the topic (Cassell) He outplayed Tom Brady in weeks 3-11 except in yardage. He did score more fantasy points than Brady. He also outplayed him this past weekend (week 16)

Cassel's day in sun will come

When Judge gets over his man-crush on Cassel he'll realize the best QB in the AFC West is Philip Rivers. Statistically, Rivers outperformed Cassel without his best WR, Vincent Jackson, for 12 games, and also without the services of Malcom Floyd, Legedu Nanee, and Antonio Gates for a significant stretch.  Just take Dwayne Bowe out of KC for the first twelve games and let me know what Cassel does...and how far KC goes in the division. BTW, Tom Brady's only excuse for missing Pro Bowl games is his perennial playoff and SB runs. Can't fault him for that, nor for playing in games that really matter.  Again, when Judge gets over his man-crush on Cassel...

Cassel's day in sun will come

He finished strong last year too didn't he? This guy plays great late, and that will make a difference this post season. I'm a life long raiders fan, so it kills me to say this, but Cassel is by far the best qb in the afc west. He deserves to be where he is at, and I'm glad the loss to Oakland next week won't hold him back. Go Raiders

Ryan, Ryan, Ryan....know your facts before you start spouting at the mouth. The Chiefs do have a low payrol and that includes their two running backs which also don't get paid as high as other "elite" backs. So...your point really doesn't make any sense at all. Pipe down..

He should have been there over Manning and his 17 picks.

Cassel's day in sun will come

Im not a colts fan, but to say cassel played better than manning is outrageous. Like a poster said earlier, imagine cassel on the colts instead of way could he put up 50 attempts a game and be where the colts are now. Cassel played smart, solid football. But he did not impact his team as much as the other 3 QBs did.
