Cassel's day in sun will come

I'm not real pleased about the snub of Matt Cassel, either, but look at it this way, Kansas City fans: The guy will go to Hawaii even though he wasn't voted to the team

And how do I know? Because Tom Brady is one of the three AFC quarterbacks, and tell me the last time he played in a Pro Bowl. He almost always is chosen and almost always finds an excuse not to go. Guaranteed, he doesn't make it. And I bet Philip Rivers won't, either. Nevertheless, the sure money is on Brady bowing out, especially if the Patriots are in the Super Bowl.

Yes, Cassel deserves to go. Heck, the guy has Kansas City in the playoffs, is 10-4 as a starter and has 23 touchdowns and just two interceptions over his last 10 games. But whom was he going to displace? Brady? Rivers? Peyton Manning? One AFC quarterback was going to get shafted, and that quarterback was Cassel.

But that's the bad news. The good is that this will all work out in the end. Trust me. So don't get too bent out of shape about Cassel not being in Hawaii ... because he will be. Just wait.

I think League MVP is pushing it a little... He has had a good year for sure but there is only one MVP Tom Brady hands down wins.

You must have created a new ID to post this stuff... The ONLY reason Cassell is having success is the running back tandem in KC... they have paid so little for every other position (except maybe Cassel) that they can afford to buy two top level backs.. The only reason Charles hasn't been seen as such until recently was the fact that the Chiefs had to pass because they fell behind so far so quick..  So... you take a team and give it 2000 yards of rushing attack... you think the opponents care about the ball being passed? No. They are watching for the run.  The Chiefs should be wary of this... even the Colts found a way to beat them (without a functioning defense).. The Chiefs have strugged against anyone who has a reasonable pass rush. Being a predominantly rushing team, I worry about them being able to score fast enough to keep up with Indy, NY, or New England... and I worry their rush will be crushed by Baltimore or Pittsburgh... I think their best chance comes against New York or Indy that being said... For Cassel.... To me he is somewhere between Trent Dilfer and Kyle Orton...Haley did the same thing for Cassel that Herm did for Tyler Pigpen... He changed the offense. You minimize QB mistakes by taking the ball out of their hand and running it and by limiting the distance of downfield throws taken. Kyle Orton did the same thing last year and nobody was electing him to the pro bowl. If anyone should go from KC it would be their running back tandem. How can they continue this success based on that though.. it's a short term solution. Thomas Jones only has a couple years left in him.. Charles can't carry it by himself for 2000 yards.

the only reason manning has a super bowl ring is because they changed the pass defense rules the year before to make it easier for him. how many of peytons wins were the result of a PI call on his winning drive?

Cassel's day in sun will come

i'm going to follow my last comment with a prediction. if the chiefs play the jets, the chiefs win. if they play the ravens i'll give it a toss up.
and a matchup with the patriots would be very interesting considering the history between the coaches and players

i'm not pleased either. he should be there instead of manning. 27 TDs, 5 INTs, 3000 yards. in fact, i think he should be the MVP. the colts were expected to be in the playoffs, the chiefs weren't. the chiefs were horrible the game cassel didn't play, and yes, the colts are horrible without manning, but what team would be there without the QB they have?

Green-ellis should be there too. 12 TDs, and he'll get to 1000 yds next week.

Cassel had a very good year and was the main reason that the cheifs are atop the AFC West this year.He had a great TD/int ratio and a good QB rating.Pretty much the only thing that hurt him is this passing yards which are fairly low.if he had even another 400-500 yards id say he should be #3 ahead of manning.also keep in mind that manning had to pass over 200 times more than cassel. that leads to more ints.
bottom line is did Cassel get snubbed? Sure.but there is always 4-5 guys that deserve the spots. he'll get his chance.

Sounds to me like Judge is picking the Cheifs to lose quickly in the playoffs.

Cassel had just a slightly better run game then Manning, lol. If you put Cassel on this years Colts team they are lucky to win 4 games.
