No surprise in Favre fining

So Brett Favre was fined. You were expecting something more?

Please. If anything, Favre was guilty of acting like a lovestruck teenager who knew what he wanted but didn't know how to get it. If the complainant were annoyed or upset with his telephoning or texting or whatever he did of was alleged to have done, she could have gone to the Jets or told Favre to stop or gotten the police involved ... but apparently she didn't.

And the photos? I don't know that that was Favre, and the NFL doesn't, either. It can't prove it was him or that he took them or that he sent them. This is not about what the NFL suspects; this is about what it knows. And it knows enough to understand there's not much evidence here of anything other than an uncooperative Favre.

I'm no legal expert, but I suspect that if this were a court of law the so-called evidence in question would have been tossed in a New York minute.

That, of course, is not to excuse Favre. His alleged behavior should not be tolerated ... especially by Mrs. Favre, and, just a guess, but that's where his biggest problem is. Once, she was a regular on Sunday afternoon games, photographed in a luxury suite cheering for her husband. i can't tell you the last time I saw her photographed at any game.

The commissioner indicated that Favre was less than cooperative and was fined for his "failure to cooperate with the investigation in a forthcoming manner." Good. He's a league employee, and he should have been penalized. But he should not have been suspended. There was no evidence of a workplace violation, the NFL said. So it NFL did the right thing. Let's move on.

No surprise in Favre fining

Whatever who cares , if he did it  , Big deal he was texting a WHore , it's not like he was texting a regular girl

Only Whores pose  for the kind of pics that she has all over the web , and  as reports suggest she is going to do a spread for Playboy  case closed , and one other thing that baffles is why did she wait 2 years to say something  , if i was Favre i'd tell Goodell to F off retire after this week and not pay him anything , which brings up another point does Goodell get a cut of all these outrageous fines he has been giving out this year ( bet it pays for the Escort service every year when the owners meet in Orlando)

First, I take it you do not know the definition of "whore" based on your post.  Modeling, nude or otherwise, is not being a whore -- if it is then there are thousands upon thousands of men and women in this country and around the world that you would qualify as a "whore".  Second, she did not "wait 2 years to say something" -- she did not say anything until the NFL began its investigation, and then cooperated with the investigation AND publicly stated that if the NFL disciplined Favre she would NOT file a civil suit ---wow, what a "whore" (especially compared to Favre cheating on, or attempting to cheat on, his wife --yea, he's the "good guy" and the "victim" in this isn't he?).  Third, its too late for Favre to retire and avoid the fine, done deal...he has to pay it and it will be deducted from his pay from the Vikings.  Finally, NO, Goodel does not get a cut of the fines -- I believe the fines all go to charity, but not positive on that. --- but you know that as well.

Not crime no fowl

?????  Huh?  Maybe you were shooting for "No crime no foul"?  Unless you were writing about birds for some reason, if so-my bad.  That said, just because it is not a "crime" does not mean that it is not wrong and that no action should be taken by your employer.  If there was no "foul", then why not just cooperate with the investigation Mr. Favre?  Answer -- they were his voice mails (he admitted that) and the pictures were of his privates and he did not want to admit that and hoped the NFL would let it slide till after the season and he retired (instead the league just let it slide until the consecutive games streak ended).

MP2375, First, She had to give Farve her number in order for him to call her or for her to recieve squat from him

WRONG, Its called a employee directory, and if Favre wanted that number he was getting it.. He could have just as easily went up to a security guard and given him and autograph or something in exchange for a phone number..

Oh and  what "other evidence" was there?

UHH did you forget about the VM which was in fact him, So first you say there is NO other evidence then you say she saved PICS of his baby wang, which is it because you cant have it both ways. Favre is a joke who got off with a slap on the hand, IN the real world that is grounds for termination.

That means she was gold digging from the start.

Wrong, its not like they met in some club, she was already making her own money, she had a television show, she worked on the sidelines in the NFL already, She didnt work at some 7-11 and happen to run into him.

No surprise in Favre fining

This article is almost as cowardly as Goodell's decision. To write that Favre was merely "acting like a lovestruck teenager" is the stupidest thing I've read in a long time. Are you serious? Tell you what Clark. Send a picture of your junk to a female intern and try that line when you're called into your boss's office. "Sorry boss, I was only pestering someone... you understand."

This is the very definition of sexual harrassment. I also like how you insinuate that Sterger was to blame. She "could have just as easily sought out the Jets... or gotten the police involved." Brett Favre is the golden boy and if Jenn Sterger didn't know it then, she sure knows it now. The head of the NFL and a suposedly major independent media outlet chose to ignore the obvious, so what hope did she have of any justice? The reason so many harrassment cases go unreported is that the victim feels the price (humiliation and/or retaliation) is way too much to pay for the outcome, which in this case was virtually nothing.

Oh, and by the way, Big Ben's case was nearly identical. He wasn't charged with ANTYTHING after a state investigation yet he was fined and suspended by the NFL. The evidence in that case was so flimsly that the D.A. didn't even bother asking for a trial. The alleged victim in that case also did less than Sterger to bring the truth to light. Funny, I don't recall you shrugging your shoulders, blaming the victim, and asking us to just move on when the Big Ben incident broke.

Keep your fingers crossed Clark. Maybe Favre will send you a photo too.

Oh and  what "other evidence" was there? There was nothing, the records showed a few phone calls and that was it, heck there was no proof that the pictures were of him or even that the pictures were even sent by him. The mere fact that she saved the picture means she was not offended by it untill some 2 years later.  This Ho knew her time in the sun was done and was and is looking for a different pay day.

persistent pestering? Umm in every workplace i have been thats pretty much called sexual harrassment. There is evidence of phonecalls made. Might not be able to prove it was his junk or not but the other evidence is there

This is nothing Mor than more PC garbage from the NFL. Once again the woman that was "bothered" obviously did not care or she would have gotten anyone involved.  Not crime no fowl, welcome to America(unless you're Big Ben, then no evidence, crime = 4 game suspension and everyone taking cheap shots at you).  The only person that has the right to be mad in theis situation is his WIFE.  Then again nothing was ever prooven.  He is only being fined for "failing to cooperate" in other words Big Bad Commish. said Brett tell us the truth and we won't spank you, and said I'm innocent. That = $50000 fine.
Big deal, it is stupid but he's filthy rich and could not care less.  If anything it makes the comm. look like the heavy handed baffoon that he is. If they actually suspended all the players' bad behaivior off the feild they would not have enough players to fill out a roster. Ol' Rog is such a hypocrite it is redicules
