Dick Jauron will be the new defensive coordinator in Cleveland, NFL sources said, agreeing to a multi-year contract Friday. Details haven't been finalized, but sources said the deal is all but done.
Jauron, who served as a secondary coach in Philadlphia, succeeds Rob Ryan as the team's defensive coordinator after one season with the Eagles. He had been a candidate for the defensive coordinator job in Philadelphia, too, but moved to the head of the class in Cleveland when Dave Wannstedt bowed out of the picture.
Jauron had been a defensive coordinator in Jacksonville (1995-98) and Detroit (2004). He is the first coordinator to join new coach Pat Shurmur's staff.
